For some reason, the Star Biryani that had opened near my house in Thiruvanmiyur never intrigued me. I guess it was because of the tinted glass—we couldn’t really feel like there was a restaurant inside. I also vaguely remember having a not-so-great experience when we had ordered from there earlier, though I can’t recall the details. So we went in with little to no expectations. The first thing that caught my attention was the price. It was much higher than what we expected. The place wasn’t crowded at all, probably because it was a weekday night. We ordered Chicken Lollipop and three types of biryani: Mutton Biryani, Chicken Biryani, and Chicken 65 Biryani. I’m not usually a fan of Chicken 65 Biryani, but since many people had raved about it, we decided to give it a try. Even though both the Chicken Biryani and Chicken 65 Biryani are made with the same rice, they somehow tasted different—I’m not sure how, but both were good. The Mutton Biryani was fabulous, as expected. The super creamy Raita and Dalcha were perfect accompaniments. The Chicken Lollipop was just how I like it, though nothing can beat the Bai Kadai Chicken Fry on the way to Thiruvanmiyur beach. This one tasted somewhat similar, so that’s a win. With a Zomato offer, we got a 15% discount, which was the icing on the cake. Overall, it turned out to be an unexpected yet highly satisfying dinner.

Have been here many times but this is my first review for a star biryani franchise. Went for lunch with friends ordered mutton biryani and crab lollipop. One of the best biryani mutton pieces were roasted and added in the biryani ena tasteu and the flavor of biryani was ultimate, the best part is no irritants can be found in the biryani. Consistency is always there in this outlet so far i haven't faced any issues but looking at other reviews a improvement is must to stay in the competition. Now crab lollipop even though it is frozen one but taste wise ultimate semma combination biryani and carb which was suggested by Dr Deshmukh please do try this you won't be disappointed. Pepsi or coke is a must when you eat a biryani like this so dont forget to order one.

Love love love the rice this biryani is made with. One of the few biryanis that leave you with a lingering ghee-aroma in your mouth and feeling light in the tummy. Very few South Indian biryanis can achieve that. Also - one of the best Kathrika Chutney u can ever get.

Briyani review ! Quantity : good for 1 Quality : good 3-4 chicken pieces but no egg Aroma : ok not great Rice : seeragha samba rice Look : doesn't look like briyani may be mistaken for tomato rice ! Taste : good not great ! Ambur briyani is one of the must try list briyani but I don't know for what reason. May be it was great then but now there are various other better competitors. Hope they improve for their betterment ! Overall : Good can be better !

Went there for a quick lunch before college with a friend of mine. Ordered the Chicken Briyani for myself and a Paneer Fried Rice for my friend. The Chicken Briyani was pretty decent. The meat was cooked well. The quantity was pretty decent. But the thing I did not like about it was the amount of oil it had. There was literally a layer of oil at the bottom of the plate with which it was served in. The Paneer Fried Rice was very ok.It was very bland and nothing to write about it. Overall a pretty decent meal. But for the price I think the value is not great.

Ordered mutton briyani and boneless chicken 65.The quantity is the major problem here as according to the rates,It is less.Other than that the taste is a bit of like tomato rice and not like the actual briyani taste. Hope ...they add a bit of quantity for the sake of increase in VFM.

Price is too high... Biryani Taste was good but quantity was too low for price.. Pepper chicken just 3pieces for high price. Not each and every penny was handled.

Crappy biriyani, oily at the end and spicy. Chicken was rubbery and barely ok. Probably cooked in dalda and left us feeling uncomfortable and bloated with acidity the whole day. Avoid this crap
