Eli’s Kitchen is not a restaurant you “try once.” It’s a place you keep going back to - sometimes without even planning to because the food stays with you. If you ask me, I would travel from Bangalore just to eat here. Every bite gives you a foodgasm. That’s the truth. This isn’t polished, plated-for-Instagram cooking. This is real food cooked slowly, with instinct and heart. Food that tastes like someone genuinely cared while making it. Every meal feels personal, not commercial. Nothing rushed. Nothing overdone. Liz, the owner, along with Abdul, ensures that every bite takes you back - to nostalgia, to memory, to something familiar you didn’t know you missed. The seafood is the real star. Fresh—often a daily catch and cooked in a way that lets the ingredients speak. The Kerala-style fish curry is deeply comforting. The Prawn Chatti Choru is unforgettable - golden fried prawns with rice cooked in an earthen pot, soaked in pure prawn flavour. Fried fish done right: crisp, simple, honest. The meat dishes are just as good—tender pork, slow-cooked beef roast, rich but never heavy. Desserts are homemade, light, and quietly indulgent. This is food that feeds more than hunger. It feeds memory. If you’re in Mahabalipuram and you really care about food, don’t miss Eli’s Kitchen.

My husband wanted to try this restaurant after all the positive reviews in Zomato. Trust me it's worth every penny and every single positive review here means what it says. If you are looking for a regular setup mass restaurant then Eli isn't for you. If you want the feeling of visiting a relatives place and have some home cooked food then Elis is a must try place. It has a home setup and limited seating and better to call up before you reach so that you know how to reach and where to park the car. Liz welcomes you with an open heart and We were amazed by her cooking skills. Must try are her home made wines, sodas, Pork Ribs, Lobster, Prawn with Chatti soru. The list goes on as everything is seasoned with pure love :) Desserts were truly delicious and home made just like how your aunty would have made it! That's the experience you would get after meeting Liz and the icing is when she sits along for a conversation and shares her food with us. We were slightly skeptical initially looking at the setup but we were just mind blown by the ambience beach view etc. Thanks for everything Liz and we will meet soon :)

I visited this place in early January and being a foodie wow what an experience. We were in Mahabalipuram for only one night and were not much hungry when we reached Eli’s kitchen for dinner, still it was the best treat to tastebuds with whatever the dishes we tried. Can’t get enough of the rice that was served with the prawns and her homemade wines. It was a peaceful night with beach view and some tasty food and drink and Ofcourse the host, she took us back to her days in mangalore and how we mutually agreed to love for mangalore as a place and for its food🙂 we would love to visit again for the same items as well as to try some more new dishes. Thank you for hosting us!

We stumbled upon Eli's Kitchen tired and hungover, and this quaint little home kitchen did not disappoint. Being a relatively large group, we had an extensive order including beef cutlets, pork chops, Syrian beef fry, prawn curry, prawn and chatti chor (boiled Kerala rice), fish curry, parathas and chicken curry. While everything was delectable, the standouts for us were the beef cutlets and the fish curry. Eli (aka Liz) was such a lovely host, I felt like I was back home with a cool aunt that all the kids love. The desserts we had - banoffee pie and mango cheesecake - had to be forced down because we were already so full but absolutely could not resist!

We stay in Semmencheri, OMR, and we drive down often enough to Eli's. The food is top notch, especially if you love your pork, prawn (and beef). We always order the pork chops, and prawn fry with Chatti Chor Rice among other things. If you love dogs, Pattu, and now Bonny are added attractions. But you know what's best? Liz/Eli and Abdul. Go in the evening, sit on the dimly lit terrace, listen to the waves, let Eli regale you with her corporate to cafe owner journey, even as she she sneaks out to check on the food, and Abdul serves you with a big broad smile on his face.

I ate the best prawns of my life at Eli's (and I'm a bengali. Been eating fish for 30 years non stop). Every single dish we tried in our two-day trip was beyond expectations. The flavors, texture, quality of food-all above excellence. What adds that extra flavor is the beautifully designed cafe, the lively ambiance and Eli herself. Hop on if you're in town, or else, you'll definitely miss something extraordinary.

We were fortunate to find Eli’s kitchen and we had the most wonderful evening. The garlic butter fish is something I’ll remember for a long time and definitely come back to. Ms. Liz is a lovely dinner companion and her beautiful quiet terrace was just what we needed. Chikoo cheesecake is something we had never tried so obviously we had to! Thank you for a lovely meal.

Been going here for more than a year now. I can never get bored of this place or the food. Our one and only "go to" place in Mahabs these days. Come to Elis for TOP quality food & great conversations. My personal favourites are "pork chops" "Partha with squid curry" "Vattapam with chicken stew" and "Banofee pie"

The pasta was very salty. The pork ribs were not cooked properly and some parts were too sweet. Potatoes were okay. Overall the food experience were not good upto the price.
