The best biryani in Chennai by far. If you enjoy spicy traditional food this is place to go. The South Indian meals are great and portions are humongous.

We used to frequent Ponnusamy in their previous Adyar location, even though the previous one was less accessible and not clearly visible from outside. But whenever we visit it during the lunch time we used to see regulars there. I personally used to love their Quail dishes. Now it’s been moved to a much accessible location and is clearly visible from Adyar Depot signal. But for some reason, it has lost its sheen. Firstly there is no proper parking space and it’s a police hot spot, so it’s irritating to go to that place. Secondly the way leading to it isn’t good. I generally don’t take lifts but the stairs was shady and the first floor looked like a haunted place. The ambience inside was very minimal and boring. The only saving grace is the view outside. We went on a Monday night with absolutely no vibe, but who needs vibe when there is great food right. Unfortunately the minimal orders we placed, Mutton Bone Soup and Chicken Kari Dosai were both average at its best. Our first order of Crab soup wasn’t available. So in all, a disappointing affair.

This place has lost its charm. It used to be one of the prestigious places for non veg dining. Feel like it lost its mojo. Ordered: Ceylon parotta was okay. Idli was hard. Dosa was fine Egg Kothu parotta was fine. What was disappointing was they didn't have any coconut chutney or sambar for idli and dosa. For parotta, they gave only chicken gravy and fish kozhumbu. It didn't feel right to have dosa and idli without proper chutney. Ambience is okay. Service was slow. Would think again to go there again.

One of the worst restaurant in Chennai. We went there for lunch we ordered mutton briyani , non veg meals, chicken 65 and fish fry. They don’t even care about the quality of food they provide. The fish fry was totally rotten and it had stale smell we returned it back and the guy who took order was saying sorry .Not sure how they don’t even care about quality of food and playing with customers health. Mutton briyani tasted as if it had been prepared the previous day and it was totally worst. If India had some strict food quality laws these guys would have been behind the bars for sure. Never recommend this place for anyone , surely it will make u disappointed. Such a over hyped place and one of the worst restaurant. Never ever go !

Is this even original Ponnusamy. Worst ever chicken biryani. Rice was too dry as it's days old and curd rice, found a fly, ywak. Seriously, couldn't even take a photo, vomitted and thrown totally into trashcan. How people can cheat in food. Is it only money for people. How can they compromise quality over business. Seriously, gonna remember this fly with sooper dooper homemade curd rice too. See, how ppl strangers to you, psychological heartbreaks, thu, 0 0 0 0, why do you have hotel when ur motive is business, then there r lot others to do. Food is divine, isn't it. Never ever will step in P.........🤮🥵😡

It was a total waste spending money at this place. The food was only okish. The biriyani was so salty and there was no one to take an order for almost 15mins, had customers from every table shout at the person who was taking up orders. This was my first time there and the worst it was. They turned off the lift even by going and telling them there's a old person who isn't able to walk down the stairs. They cared a dam about it. Wasn't sure, who i can take this complaint too. That's the main reason I'm posting it here. A very bad behaviour from the hotel staff, service and no heart at all. Worst

Sitting at the restaurant for 45 min after ordering and writing this review. I still haven't gotten my orde. Pls don't visit this place even by mistake You'll starve to death. .

Avoid at all costs! Biriyani was tasteless. Ordered Chilli Panner and Chilli Egg. it was more like a pepper panner and pepper egg! Overall a bad place
