• Classic Comfort Chinese • Located bang on Nungambakkam high Rd, Rangis is a legendary outlet has been serving some lip-smacking Indianised Chinese food since 1985. The approach is easy and there's parking available for the restaurant. The place is pretty small and old-fashioned. The plates are sterilised to maintain hygiene and not let the food go cold too easily. The service is really quick and the orders are executed in no time. Rangis' is famous for its variety of meat specialities like Crispy Beef and Crispy pork and can get really busy in the evenings. I tried their speciality 🌟 Rangis' Chicken & 🌟Seafood Noodles which together costed about ₹357/- Rangis' Chicken was a blast of flavors and tasted great for a starter and was served within a couple of minutes. The chicken was marinated well and cooked perfectly with pronounced flavors. The seafood noodle was a very generous portion of predominantly prawns cooked well and soft noodles along with fluffy eggs. The bowl had a lot of subtle flavors, perfectly paired with their signature starter. A bowl of noodle and a starter is pretty filling for two people and the serving size is pretty big and generous. This was definitely not the regular cheap oily-greasy noodles that any random fastfood joint would serve. The kitchen staff seem very experienced and the service here is really good. This restaurant definitely displays good customer service and they have a crowd of regulars that come in. Some recommendations to try : Chilli garlic noodles seafood rice/ noodles Rangis chicken Chicken drumstick Double cooked pork Beef n onion One thing I wasn't able to pact with was the lack of Dessert options and that would've just made it a cherry on the cake. Overall, the place is amazing for good comfort Chinese food and is pocket-friendly.

one of the hidden gems in Chennai. this Chinese restaurant provides the best authentic Chinese food which you crave for. the ambience is very cozy with ample parking space . After the bill and quantity of food they provide I felt cheated in every other Chinese shop I have eaten so far. So reasonably priced for the quality and quantity.

My husband has always been wanting to go to this place since the time he started studying CA. This place is very near to our institute, so since our friends wanted to go for chinese my husband suggested this place and so we did try it. Went there for lunch yesterday, ordered a sour and pepper soup and a veg dragon soup. Both the soups tasted fine but could have been better. It was too thick and lacked the soup consistency and the feel. For the starters, we ordered a veg spring roll and a deep fried cottage cheese. Both of them tasted very good, with rhe right amount of filling and crispness the spring roll had and the paneer was really soft and tender with a nice crunch on the outside. For the mains, we had a chilli garlic fried rice, veg chinese chopsuey, veg hakka noodles and vegetables in a sauce. The mains and the accompaniments tasted sumptuous, packed with so much flavour and the right amount of spice. Nothing was too spicy. I must say the service and staff was commendable. Extremely quick service even with a full house, they managed to bring items real quick.

Quite a fan of their double cooked Schezwan pork and have ordered in multiple times, first time visiting this place. We had * Chicken drumsticks - It was very mediocre, it was more like chicken coated in bajji maavu, the batter was too thick but the chicken was fresh, they served it along with a sauce which lacked flavour * Chilly Beef - The meat was tender and well coated and it was tossed with onions and fresh peppers, very tasty * Seafood chilli garlic fried rice - certainly the highlight of what we ordered, generous meat pieces and fresh ingredients, tasted delicious *Double cooked Schezwan pork - used to be great when I used to order in but today somehow The meat was very chewy and something was off with the flavour even after they replaced it The portion sizes are huge so please keep that in mind while ordering, two of us ordered quite a lot and were struggling to finish it. Definitely good taste, vfm i hope they concentrate on maintaining the taste level of certain dishes. Totally it worked out to 1400 for 2

This place has a seating capacity of 30 and, surprisingly, wasn’t too packed even on a Friday night. It’s located right next to Farzi Cafe, making it an easy spot to find. The Dragon Chicken was underwhelming, leaning more towards sweet without the expected spicy kick. Rangi’s Special Chicken was the standout crispy, flavorful, and topped with fried onions that added a nice touch. The Crispy Lamb was well-cooked with a good texture and taste. For mains, we went with Szechuan Chicken Fried Rice and Kung Pao Chicken, both served in generous portions with well-balanced flavors. The American Chopsuey, however, was a bit of a letdown. It was overly sweet, and since they didn’t mix it well, the noodles ended up tasting the same throughout. Overall, had a great Chinese dinner, and the pricing felt justified for the quantity served. Definitely planning to return!

Think of 'comfort food' and it's either Chinese or Italian for me. And a time tested and modest outlet that's been dishing out Chinese/Cantonese cuisine with an Indian twist since the early 80s is the cozy little Rangis at Nungambakkam Chennai. Effortlessly garnering adjectives that most restaurants can only crave for - consistency, daintily and authenticity, it's bang on every single time!! A recent inquiry revealed that they've had the same master handling their kitchen for the last few decades. The seating is cozy and comfortable, the service is moderate, portions are adequate, the pricing still leaves a swell on your pocket and you leave perpetually chuffed. Their crispy fried veggies and fish in hot garlic and ginger sauce claim special mention. Sadly though, their well listed menu is sans any dessert choice.

A small, unassuming place nestled opposite The Park hotel - Rangis goes all the way back to 1985. It serves Desi Chinese which I would call bang for buck - not the best in terms of flavour but the quantity is quite commendable for the price. The Rangis chicken is a go to order, and they do serve up many a stir fry too!

Ordered 2 items ( chicken fried rice and Chilli lamb) on 20.12.2023 through zomato. Received a bad quality food (undercooked lamb). Immediately complained to the restaurant. Was told il b given a refund and proper action would b taken. As there was no response, I contacted the restaurant again but given an irresponsible answer
