What do you expect when you a visit a outlet with a name board Sri Krishna Sweets? A place full of sweets displayed in different varieties for you to take away.. No it is wrong!. Then, may be some savories also being sold along with the sweets? No again wrong. This is a new concept of chain of Sri krishna sweets in the line of Adyar Anandha Bhavan to have a dining place inside their sweet shops and the umpteen number of outlets and the one in Velachery is the same all about. A wider section of sweets and savories along with a comfortable place for dining in. Sri Krishna sweets, a Coimbatore based business unit which came with a bang to the city when the erstwhile Anajali sweets was doing a thriving business. Sri Krishna sweets with its signature sweet Mysorepa which replaced a very long and traditional Mysorepakku without which a marriage lunch or dinner would not be complete. The original mysore pakku was so hard like a nut. There were so many jokes hanging around about the hardness of a mysore pakku made by an house wife which broke her husband’s sweet tooth while trying it? But still the taste of the original mysore pakku remains afresh in our memories. Even now some of the street side sweet shops in southern parts of India are selling mysore pakku.. Well, coming back to the story of Mysorepa (the last letters of the sweet “KKU” was removed to symbolically announce that this version is softer). It is loaded with lots of ghee and suar and with one bite it is divine and for the the next bite it seems to be ok and for the third bite you tend to decline. But it was a well planned innovation and deserved success story for Sri Krishna sweets. The result: Mysorepa has become an instant hit everywhere especially with the new generation which has lost the strength of their sweet tooth (symbolically mentioning!) The concept of having a dinner space inside a sweet shop was another thumping success story for Sri Krishna sweets. They serve all south Indian delicacies and the taste of their tiffin varieties are worth mentioning for the price and value. Their limited meals pack and mini meals are better option for a take away lunch. They boast wide varieties of sweets including traditional ones apart from their signature sweet Mysorepa and traditional savories like Murukku, Seedai and Thattai. Their outlets have varieties of ready made pickles, thokkus and curry paste to help bachelors and also for working women to tackle their task of everyday meal making. Sri Krishna Sweets also come out with their value packs during the Hindu festivals and they sell like hot cakes (or hot sweets?). There is nothing much to worry about rating them low or high as they are going to stay here as long as you want to indulge in sweets, unless you are diabetic, on every good occasion and on all festival days and you make sure they come on all the 365 days. I have visited them countless times like any other. So I intend to make a fair review and a reasonable rating. Hence this one is purely based on their persistent and innovative ideas, business success story and their commitment in trying to keep up with tradition by selling all the heritage south Indian delicacies in both sections of sweets and savories.

Nice interiors, renovation in progress to extend the space! The service at this branch is to be mentioned, one - one customer care! From the moment you enter the place and until you walk out there is one staff by your side, picking and caring things for you! Mouth melting Mysore pah...

Had to slip in here due to the constraints of Phoenix opening only after 10am. An accidental crash, still was worth it. Had a Rawa Kichadi along with Badam Kheer. Kichadi was made well. Perfectly cooked with essence of ghee. Sambar n chutney were good accompaniments. Kheer was a not upto the level. It used to be super rich at other outlets. When it comes to breakfasts there's no complaint abt Sri Krishna. :)

We were rushing for a movie but as one of my friend was hungry we just dropped in for a quick bite. We ordered bonda and pav bhaji. Bonda was warm but they were not good as they were kept in the hot box. They became hard so we returned it. Pav bhaji was good nothing to complaint. Not a bad one for a quick bite.

Poor Service . Place was deserted at 9 am. No tissue in the table . I asked whether they have Zomato gold. They seems to be not knowing about Zomato gold . He said they don’t have tomato juice . Very slow and very reactive approach in client service . Food was average . Disappointed for the brand. It’s just a good place for Sweets and savoury. Not recommended for restaurant.

Horrible service. They are not at all knowing Basic food manners and service. Please don’t visit and waste money. Food was horrible and not worth the money. We had to wait for more than 15 min just to get a glass of water. Waiters were irresponsible and kind rude. Never going to suggest this place again to anyone.

Pathetic place to eat.... The service person is literally ruining this restaurant. We waited for fifteen minutes and had enough of reasons not to eat here.
