I recently went to Cafe Del Mar of South Goa (Palolem beach) reading good reviews on the internet. The service staff named Shreyash (Long haired guy) was very rude and don't know how to talk or behave with the customer. Cafe del Mar would loose it's customers due to his behaviour for sure. Cover charges for front tables of beach was 1500 (excluding Hookah). The guy kept on nagging 3-4 times to pay the amount even if we (2 people) were just deciding on the things we would order. Ultimately, we had to move in the inside table and upon deciding the order, when we gave him the order and then asked to take the cover amount and shift us in the front table, then he denied even for that even if the front tables were vacant. However, the Food whatever we ordered was good- Chicken do pyaaja, paneer butter masala, onion rings, garlic naan, garlic roti, drinks etc. Even if you go there for good food & vibes, make sure you don't get to interact with the Long haired guy shreyash.

The staff was not paying attention to customer's order. The food was very delayed and had to ask multiple times before we got the food. The place was not well maintained.

Double Expensive than most of the metro cities. Everyone may love to go here for ambiance and photos. Beer only served as pints. So much expensive being off season.

You will get a great experience if you fall into one of the below given categories. 1. If you are a foreigner 2. If you are “hot, sexy, good looking “girl/group of girls. Needless to say we don’t fall into any of the above categories hence our experience here was nothing short than a horror story! The moment we entered the place and went towards the sun beds the owner came running who you should know is a drunk sleazy old guy who keeps roaming around bare chested, anyways so he stopped us and asked us to pay a cover charge per person which was 500rs pp if we want to use the sun beds. This was our first clue to run for the hills but we travelled all the way from North Goa with a toddler were tired and hungry so decided to over look this and went ahead to pay the cover charges and take a seat. The staff and the owners are super rude they won’t tend to you unless you are a foreigner you would have to keep going back n forth to look for someone to serve you or take your order. The place is in shambles the washrooms worse dark dingy stinky place. Food below average and over priced. I’m really surprised as to how this place is even still running in the first place. Definitely never ever going back here again!!! DO NOT RECOMMEND IT !!!!

Reached the place by the beach. Place is worn down and needs maintenance. Horrible washroom for both men and women. Also owner and staff are biased cause they serve foreigners well and mistreat Indians. For starters they charge ₹500 per person in case you want to use beach beds which is usable against the total bill. Other shacks charge ₹100 but they’re strict for charging ₹500 cover charge for Indians only. No such rules for Foreigners. Additionally food is third grade. Tasteless and bland. Can hear owners and staff fighting among each other when you head to the washroom. Mens washroom is the worst and has water flooding always but no one caters to the washroom when complained to get it cleaned. Prawn curry rice Chicken hot n sour soup Happy hours offer is only available on select mock tails which they refrain from mentioning in the sign board outside the shack. Lastly Sunday lunch ruined cause of this experience.

Extremely and only money and money minded people. 0% customer friendly, not at all customer friendly. Food is okayish but the prices are so high not worth it They charge a cover charge of 1500 rs which is nonsense in south goa , where people want’s to just chill at the beach and any way if its a group of 3-4 people bill will naturally go above that , so why this stupid charge . And please note : that cover charge cannot be used to pay for seesha I asked them to do a little adjustment with my drink but they literally denied it Never going back to this “just for money “ place We are ready to pay but atleast keep a happy heart serving us !! You will get to eat food but on their rules and regulations 5-6 potential customer groups left because of this stupid cover charge . Nonsense!!

This review is purely about the service. This has been a very had experience. We were 3 of us. Took a long time to get their attention so that we could get a 3rd chair. The staff is inattentive. Even for taking our order we had to struggle to get their attention. No napkin on the table. When the food came, no plates were given. Once again we had to go through the whole exercise of getting the attention of the waiters. So, no. Won't reccomend.

I wish there was zero star option. This place will loose customer because of joseph he needs to learn how to speak to customers. There charge 1k per person to sit in shack n 500 for inside sitting. Food is not worth the hype. Will definitely not visit in future. Joseph because of you this restaurant will loose future customers. P.s if you need to spend a good time dont visit this place.

The rudest reception received by a person named Anil. Don't get fooled by the decoration. He has a major attitude problem. Was rude , unwelcoming and was arrogant.. A big AVOID ... Went to the extent of arguing

Third class property. The owner is a drunk fellow and very arrogant towards his customers. Prices are very costly. AVOID.
