The menu is really interesting, something hard to find anywhere else in Hyderabad, really well curated. Loved all the items we ate and drank!

Orlo, Hyderabad – Creative Indian Cuisine with Lake Views Orlo is an interesting take on Indian cuisine—its name itself is a playful word twist (“Aur Lo,” meaning take another serving!). In summary, it’s a unique experience with understated yet pleasant ambience overlooking Durgam Cheruvu. Definitely overpriced for what it offers, but discounts via Swiggy Dineout help balance the value. Location & Access: Orlo is located near Inorbit Mall, in a cluster of cafés and restaurants. It’s easy to find, though peak HiTech City traffic around Sattva can slow you down, so plan accordingly. Valet service is available for cars, while two-wheelers have a less convenient setup opposite the restaurant. Entry is oddly from the rear side of the building. The restaurant is on the second floor, accessible by lift. Washrooms are outside—usable but a bit small. Ambience: The vibe is minimalist yet pleasant, with dim lighting that aims for a relaxed feel. Indoor seating facing the lake is the best option, so reservations are recommended if you want those corner tables. Outdoor seating was unused during summer evenings, as expected. Background music was slightly louder than ideal, but manageable. Service & Menu: The staff were friendly and professional, helping us rearrange tables for our group of seven. Service was efficient, with dishes arriving within 10 minutes of ordering. The menu is broad, though some items (especially desserts) weren’t available despite being listed. Variety felt lacking in some pockets, but overall it’s a decent spread. Food: The highlight of the evening was the chaat item we ordered—creative and flavorful. Other dishes were good, meats were well prepared, but nothing felt truly standout. You’ll have a satisfying meal, but not one that lingers in memory. Portion sizes were reasonable, though pricing felt steep without discounts. Pricing: Expect to pay around ₹1,500 per person for a heavy meal (without alcohol). With discounts, you can manage closer to ₹1,000 per person for mains and beverages. Alcohol and premium drinks will push the bill higher. Takeaway: Orlo is worth trying once, especially during winter evenings when the lake-facing ambience shines. It’s a good option for romantic date nights or group dinners, provided you snag discounts to soften the premium pricing. Without them, it’s a 3/5 experience; with them, closer to 4/5.

It was a pleasant experience, especially with the amazing view and ambience, timely service and variety of different regional cuisines. However, a couple of things could be improved. Some dishes felt slightly overpriced for the portion sizes. Also, had ordered a sweet kofta curry which was too watery and lacked flavor, so that’s something I’d skip next time. Aside from these points, everything else was done well and the overall experience was positive

A pleasant evening was unfortunately spoiled by a hygiene issue. Up until that point, everything had been going well—Orlo is a small, cozy place with a nice ambience. We especially enjoyed the Himalayan Thukpa, though the Chicken Tikka was disappointing. We ordered the Bhuna Mutton for our main course and were enjoying it until we found a hair in the dish. What made the situation worse was how casually the staff handled it. The waiter only took the plate away after we pointed it out, and then didn’t return for several minutes. When he finally did, he asked if we wanted dessert, which felt completely inappropriate given the situation. When I asked what they planned to do about the issue, another staff member was called over, who was equally nonchalant. He mentioned they wouldn’t charge for the mutton—which is the bare minimum—and that the chef had been “informed.” There was no real acknowledgment of the seriousness of the problem or any genuine apology. Food safety is not something to be taken lightly, and the staff seemed poorly trained to handle such situations. Unfortunately, this experience means I won’t be returning.
