Teluguness, Madhapur – One of My All-Time Favorite Telugu Meals My wife, in-laws, and I were craving a proper Telugu thali/meals on a Saturday late noon around 3:30 PM. At that time, many restaurants usually close for lunch, but Teluguness was open until 4 PM—already a win. Bottom line: wow, what an amazing place for wholesome, tummy-bursting meals. Must-try, and easily one of my all-time favorites in Hyderabad. Location & Access: Teluguness is easy to find in Madhapur, surrounded by other restaurants. We didn’t make reservations since we were going at an odd hour, and only about 25% of tables were occupied. They offer valet parking, though cars are parked outside in the sun (no basement). The restaurant is on the first floor, accessible via stairs; I don’t recall seeing a lift, so accessibility may be limited. Ambience: The place is neat, spacious, and well maintained, with regional design flourishes that suit a Telugu cuisine–focused restaurant. It feels authentic without being overdone. Menu & Service: The menu is straightforward, focused on Telugu meals, with a few North Indian items (which I didn’t try). We ordered thalis—non-veg for me, veg for the rest. Food arrived quickly, within 10 minutes. Service was efficient, no frills. Food: This is where Teluguness shines. The non-veg meal was outstanding: - Fish fry, mutton kheema curry, chicken curry, egg masala – all flavorful and spicy. - Pappu, chutney, sambar, curd-based dishes, kheer – excellent accompaniments. - Pooris – served as starters but felt like a meal in themselves. - Rice – I ended up eating three full servings, plus a small portion of bagara rice. The spread was generous, spicy, and deeply satisfying. You’ll need curd and kheer to balance the heat, but every bite is worth it. I overate, happily, at 37 with a good appetite. Expect your meal to feel heavy—you’ll likely skip your next one. Pricing: For four people, the bill was about ₹2000, without any Swiggy/Zomato discounts. Given the quality and quantity, this was a steal. Takeaway: Teluguness delivers one of the best Telugu thali experiences in Hyderabad. It’s spicy, hearty, and wholesome—exactly what you’d want from a regional meal. Must-try for Telugu food lovers, and expect to leave full, satisfied, and possibly skipping dinner.

The food really tasted good and satisfied my tastebuds, but there lies a catch the quantity of the starters is a red flag, it’s a very small portion for the price charged.

Veg starters can be better. Sambar rice Chicken fry combination is good. Staff is courteous. Ambience is ok for the price they are charging.

Manchuria was so salty and bad, they had changed in on our request and rest of the items were also very average!

the food is not good what ever we ordered it has no salt and not cooked properly. Even though we said to them nothing was done to improve it. overall it's a bad experience in Teluguness.

The food is bland. No spice, no salt and no flavour overall. The naan is very thick, not pleasant to eat. The overall food is pricey , not worth any penny.

food is costly but no quality. They suggested Nellore pulao but it is either old or over cooked. not worth the money.
