Recently visited Delhi 6 and tried their mutton kebabs and they were honestly really good. Super soft, nicely cooked, and full of flavor without being too heavy on spices. They had that proper smoky touch and weren’t dry at all.

Tried the boneless chicken tikka from Delhi 6. It was good, the chicken was soft and cooked properly, which I liked. The flavour felt quite authentic, especially that light smoky taste. I’d order it again.

Dining out is not just about food — it’s about the entire experience. From the ambiance to the service and hygiene, every element plays a role in creating a memorable meal. Unfortunately, my recent visit to Delhi 6 was far from pleasant. In fact, it turned out to be one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences I’ve had in a long time. I believe honest feedback helps businesses improve, so here’s my detailed review of what went wrong and why Delhi 6 completely missed the mark. First Impressions Matter From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the staff at Delhi 6 was either overwhelmed, undertrained, or simply uninterested. There was no warm greeting at the entrance — no "Welcome," no guidance about where to sit. We had to find our own table and wait around, hoping someone would eventually acknowledge us. That initial feeling of being ignored already set a negative tone for the rest of the experience. No Menu? Seriously? After waiting for almost ten minutes, we finally had to call a staff member ourselves. When we asked for the menu, we were met with a blank expression. Shockingly, no menu was brought to the table. We had to go back and forth with different waiters, and it felt like nobody knew what was happening. Not having a physical or digital menu in a sit-down restaurant is unacceptable. It showed a complete lack of organization and preparation. A restaurant that can’t even provide a menu creates confusion for the guests and reflects poorly on how seriously they take their service standards. We were forced to guess or ask directly if certain dishes were available, which brings me to the next major issue — the food. A Long List of “Sorry, Not Available” We went in hoping to enjoy some of our favorite North Indian dishes, expecting the menu to have the usual variety of chaats, curries, breads, and coolers — especially given the name Delhi 6, which evokes thoughts of rich, authentic flavors and cultural food experiences. However, it quickly became a comedy of errors. Everything we asked for seemed to be out of stock or "not available at the moment." It was baffling. Some basic and popular items like butter naan, dal makhani, and paneer tikka were simply not being served. Even cold coffee, which is usually a standard beverage available in any café or restaurant, was not on offer. It made us wonder: what was available? It felt like the kitchen was running on leftovers, or worse, not functioning at all. There was no explanation or apology — just repeated responses of “not available” from staff who barely seemed to care. We ended up ordering something we weren’t even in the mood for, just because we didn’t have any other option. Needless to say, the mood at the table was already sour. Hygiene Horrors As we waited for our food (which took longer than necessary), I decided to use the washroom. That, too, was a huge disappointment. The washroom was in terrible condition — dirty floors, broken fixtures, and an overall lack of cleanliness. It didn’t feel like it had been cleaned that day, or even recently. For any dining establishment, hygiene is a basic requirement, and it reflects the standards upheld in the kitchen too. It’s not only unpleasant but also a health concern when such basic sanitary expectations aren’t met. No matter how great a restaurant’s food might be, poor hygiene ruins the entire experience and raises serious questions about cleanliness in food preparation as well. Staff Attitude and Training Throughout our visit, the attitude of the staff was completely lackluster. There was no professionalism, no courtesy, and definitely no sense of urgency or customer satisfaction. We felt like we were bothering them by simply existing in their restaurant. Basic manners, such as checking in on the table, responding politely to questions, and being available when needed, were all missing. It was obvious that the staff wasn’t well-trained or well-managed. Either the restaurant is short-staffed, or the management doesn't invest in customer service — either way, it reflects terribly on the overall brand of Delhi 6. Food Quality? Nothing Memorable When the food finally arrived (after a long wait and multiple reminders), it was below average at best. Nothing stood out. The flavors were bland, the presentation was lazy, and the portion sizes didn’t match the pricing. After such a long, frustrating wait, we were hoping the food would redeem the experience — but sadly, it was just as forgettable as everything else. It’s hard to enjoy your meal when you’re already disappointed by everything that happened before it arrived. The food didn’t save the day — in fact, it was just the final nail in the coffin. Final Thoughts Visiting Delhi 6 was a frustrating and disappointing experience from start to finish. Here’s a quick summary of what went wrong: No warm welcome or proper seating assistance No menu provided at the table Most of the items were “not available” No cold coffee or even basic beverages Washrooms were extremely unhygienic Staff was inattentive, unprofessional, and poorly trained Food was below average in both taste and presentation In short, Delhi 6 completely failed to deliver even the most basic expectations from a restaurant. Whether you’re going out with friends, family, or just for a solo meal, no one deserves to be treated like an afterthought by an establishment they are paying to enjoy. If the management of Delhi 6 happens to read this, I strongly recommend revisiting your standards — from staff training and food availability to hygiene and overall customer experience. A catchy name and location can only take you so far. Without real effort, people will not return — and worse, they’ll warn others to stay away. Rating: ★☆☆☆☆ (1 out of 5)

Awful Service, 35 mins for starters that too only one and that came burnt and another one came after another 10 minutes. The quality has gone down too much the Kebabs were salty and not soft now. I asked for the menu almost 5 times, and then water came after asking for it 3 times. Just a waste of time and money.
