I had the pleasure of having the tasting menu created by Chef Amit at the restaurant with my friend. The meal was a unique experience. The courses were well thought-out and designed on the lines of Tradition, Innovation and Wellness. We started with a clarified Mango Lassi which was delicious and delivered that exact tangy sweetness to prep the palate for the meal. The fun element of the menu, that arrived on a bed of boondi, was a white chocolate phuchka bomb filled with the paani of the phuchka...it was almost a shock to have the pristine dome crack in one's mouth and have the sour spicy liquid gush out. Then followed a red tomato and dhaniya shorba presented with a burrata kulcha. The punchiness of the soup was mellowed by the cheese and bread! Next level taste explosion was the deconstructed Dahi Bhalla that came with a creamy chutney semifreddo and yoghurt foam. Created at the table by the chef, it was a playful take on an old Punjabi classic and it delivered in heaps on the flavours and sheer taste. Then we were served a mushroom/galouti kebab course which scented the table and our plates with a saffron aroma. This was followed by a chicken tikka kebab that came with a spot of tangy mint chutney. We had another chaat course of quinoa avocado kataifi which tasted like Kolkata jhaalmuri. At this point we were served a strawberry gelato on a bed of macerated strawberries which straddled the line between savoury and sweet while effortlessly cleansing our palate for the main course. The main course was inspired by a thali. We had a veg and a non veg version. Red rice, a creamy kaali dal, a flaky square of a paratha, a raita and aloo chokha with some greens remained constant to both thalis. The non-veg variant had a nalli nihari where the mutton needed no coaxing to fall off the bone. The veg version came with two crispy koftas of naddu or lotus stem on a creamy sauce bed. Exceptionally tasty! We were stuffed but couldn't let the dal go neither the kofta/mutton. At this point, we received the dessert which chef explained was a playful take on rice kheer with elements of winter added in...like fresh strawberries, tiny nolen gurer roshogollas and til chikkis. The result was pleasing and the textures and tastes worked wonderfully together. Last but not the least was a bowl of deconstructed rasmalai, with just the right degree of sweetness and oomph, covered by a tuille of rose chocolate and surrounded by an array of red gerberas. Flawless and finessed, this is one of those special event meals that cannot be missed in Kolkata.

Had a splendid dining experience with a specially curated menu that included more dishes than we could eat. From Head Chef Abdus' exquisite creations and familiar dishes made special with unique touches to Gaurav's attentive, courteous service and enthusiasm in accommodating our wishes and doing everything from his end to make our experience pleasant- we had a great meal and an excellent time. Would definitely recommend this place to everyone!

The food and the ambiance was amazing and the service was also top notch. The service person I contacted at the restaurant helped me out a very nice table for me and my partner.

I’ve visited WestIn multiple times, both personally and for corporate events, but my experience at Ruh-b-Ruh on Navami night was by far the worst I’ve had at any so-called fine-dining restaurant. From the start, service was careless. Food was served in such tiny portions (like the ravioli) that asking for more felt awkward—and when we did, it took ages to arrive. I asked for a non-alcoholic beverage menu, which was promised but never shared. Our server disappeared for 25 minutes, leaving us completely unattended. Basic hospitality was missing. Water only came after multiple requests. Spoons weren’t given unless we asked. Nobody checked on repeat orders. By the time dishes arrived, we couldn’t even try most of the menu. When we asked for a manager, a person in a pink kurta arrived, gave us a flat “sorry,” and even suggested we should “come after puja” if we wanted proper service. Honestly, if a restaurant can’t handle guests during Durga Puja, they shouldn’t invite them. The only positive was Himanshu, a staff member who genuinely tried to help and even brought us a drink on his own. But overall, paying ₹6000+ including tax for two people and being treated this way was unacceptable. If this is WestInn’s version of fine dining, I’d strongly advise others to think twice before visiting.

We recently visited Ruh B Ruh at Westin Kolkata with a prior reservation of 10 heads to celebrate an occasion, but to our disappointment they didn’t prepare our table in advance, rather made us wait for 10 mins. On the other hand there was a table for 10 well prepared but they were not allotting the same and rather choose to disappoint the guests.

Experience was pathetic ,, food served was indeed tasty but to my utter surprise they even charged for that food as well . They should learn how to treat a guest, we welcome our guest with food and don’t ask for money,

The service is extremely slow, and the food taste & preparation is a really big let down! The dishes have fancy names but lack the authentic taste & the feel of a sumptuous meal. Please do not visit this place!

Pathetic food and service. Avoid this place at all costs. Go to Seasonal Tastes on the 10th floor instead.
