In a city that runs on speed, spice, and soul, some places don’t just serve food, they become emotion. Ashok Vada Pav near Kirti College is exactly that kind of institution, where generations have stood shoulder to shoulder, waiting for that one perfect bite. What makes their vada pav truly iconic is the balance. The batata vada is crisp on the outside, soft and flavourful inside, with just the right hint of garlic and spice. The pav is always fresh, lightly toasted, and acts as the perfect carrier without overpowering the star. But the real magic lies in their chutney game. That signature dry garlic chutney hits instantly with a bold, smoky spice, while the fried green chillies on the side elevate the entire experience. It’s not just heat, it’s character, the kind that lingers and keeps you coming back. And then comes the cult favourite, the chura pav. Buttery, spicy, slightly messy, and absolutely addictive. The crushed vada mixed with chutneys and masala, soaked into the pav, creates a texture and flavour bomb that feels indulgent in the most Mumbai way possible. Crisp edges, soft centres, and that unmistakable street-style richness. Being a true Dadarkar, I’ve grown up eating this vada pav, and what’s incredible is how the taste has remained exactly the same over the years, still the best vada pav, hands down. There’s a legacy here that you can actually taste. Started decades ago and now run by the next generation, Ashok Vada Pav has become a landmark in Dadar’s food scene. It has seen college crowds, office rush, late-night hunger, and everything in between, yet the consistency remains untouched. No unnecessary reinvention, just doing the basics exceptionally well, every single time. The vibe is classic Mumbai, fast-moving queues, minimal waiting despite the crowd, and an energy that feels alive. You don’t come here for luxury, you come here for authenticity. Ashok Vada Pav isn’t just food, it’s a ritual, a memory, and for many, a weekly craving that never fades. Simple, iconic, and absolutely unbeatable. 🌶️🔥

I had been hearing a lot of good things about this Vada Pav spot near Kirti College, so I decided to visit during this monsoon. The place was super crowded, and I had to wait almost half an hour. It’s a clean spot, and the uncle running the stall was very welcoming. The Vada Pav here has a different twist—it’s got a bit of tandoori masala in the filling! It's not the usual taste you expect from a Vada Pav, but it's still quite good. Overall, I would say it was a decent experience, though a little overhyped. Quality: 4/5 Quantity: 5/5 Service: 4/5 For more mouthwatering food content, don’t forget to follow @chefvaidehipathare on Instagram!

I took a short auto ride to the famous Ashok Vada Pav, right next to its original location in Kirti College road, and tried their unique offering of a classic vada pav with a twist of loading up the vada pav with the crispy bits that fall off while frying the batata vada. The vada pav as such was nice and spicy, but with all the crispy bits being a little too oily, I felt an oily aftertaste that wasn't my favourite. But it is something very different to your regular vada pav and to an extend innovative too so do try and share your views on how you liked it

Wanted to try this much hyped Wada Pav near Kirti college. Was in queue for about 30 minutes and then the wada pav that the place had to offer was mediocre. The wada was hot with crispy bits filled inside along with the chutney.

Went on a working day afternoon and yet there was a line. Cost for one Vada pav is 30/-. Not worth the cost, as the size is relatively small. Also they put a lot of sweet chutney & thecha. The sweet chutney has a very very dominant taste. Yes there is a lot of chura w the Vada pav, but it was really soggy. Overall a very flavorful vada pav but not worth the hype.

Do not fall prey to the unnecessary hype. Talking about hygiene, the guy shamelessly collected all the spilled over chutney on the slab and put it back in the container from which he serves. Imagine what they do inside the kitchen. After this, I don’t even bother about the taste which also wasn’t the great anyway for which I stood in line for 45 minutes.

Probably the worst vada paav I've ever had for which i also had to wait for more than 30 minutes, the service is extremely slow and definitely not worth the hype. Wouldn't recommend this to anyone even with no waiting
