Al fresco is a beautiful garden restaurant with couches and a lot of plants around. The food is quite good. We liked everything we ordered. We ordered paneer tikka, edamame dimsums, mushroom baos and a vegetable biryani with mocktails. The mocktails were good too. It’s a perfect place for a date night or have a quite peaceful meal or celebrate an occasion. The only let down were the mosquitoes. I wish they could do something about this. You can definitely give it a try.

What a remarkable lesson in creative hospitality. The place is marketed as a breath of fresh air in Mumbai, and initially, it almost delivers. Sheesha was offered without hesitation, enjoyed comfortably, and then—exactly at the one-hour mark—we were informed that sheesha is apparently allowed for only 45 minutes. No prior disclosure. No warning. No courtesy heads-up that it would be frisked away. Just a post-facto announcement, generously framed as “we still allowed you an hour.” How kind. Naturally, rules that appear after consumption make perfect sense. The bill for two sheeshas and food came to ₹11,890, yet we weren’t even allowed the basic courtesy of properly checking or taking the bill away. Transparency clearly isn’t part of the experience. The real performance, though, came from the staff. Every item ordered was repeatedly priced out loud—despite the menu doing that job already—as if the goal was less about information and more about financial vetting. The tone was judgmental,

Food was extremely bland and tasteless. Food standard was very low. Everything felt diluted and was not upto the mark with the money charged against it.
