Best daal bati churma I have ever had. Quantity is more than sufficient . Don't know why it's rated less than 4 on zomato.

Went here with my office staff as we had heard a lot about this place from our friends. We were very excited as this place serves some amazing varities of khichdi which is very interesting. We ordered some masala khichdi, plain khichdi, chaas and taste was good. Though i found the prices to be on higher side. Ambience is good.

Tried the thali and Mexican khichdi. It's awesome. Thali has elaborate menu. All the veggies are too good but the green Gujarat is the best. Overall a very nice experience. Staff is very friendly and are at your service.

As the name suggests, this restaurant specialises in traditional Kutchi and Gujarati cuisine, especially 'Kichidi' the humble rice preparation, of which they serve over 40 varities! Apart from their USP, they have tried their best to being out the typical 'desi' food from nook and corner of Gujarat, and I'd say they have done a pretty good job. Also, their buffet is also worth a try, unlimited 'Khatiyawadi' food at just 500 bucks! A mouth watering deal for all the food loving Gujjus out there! Though the Buffet deal was too good to pass, we decided to go for the A la carte. But before we get to food, lets tall about the ambiance and service. I was disappointed with the service cause it took them too long to bring simple preparations like Chapati, and the wait while eating Indian food is unbearable. In their defence, the place filled up within a span of 30 minutes! While we entered, it looked desserted with just the staff roaming around the place, but by the time we started our main course, it sounded like a fish market! (We Gujjus are a loud, joyous bunch!) They serve most of their food in earthen or semi-earthen pots and plates, even the water bottle was made from clay it seemed. They also have these utensils for sale if a customer is interested. The seating, of short legged chairs and tables, with cloth woven along the chairs skeleton, though looks stylish and village-y, is a bit uncomfortable, especially while you are having a meal. Coming to the food, I loved their varitey of pickles, which also included my favourite one, the sweet shredded mango pickle, called 'Chundo' in Gujarati. For the desi starters, we began our meal with ROASTED BUTTER KICHIYA, which us somewhat like roasted papad, but only 100 times better in taste and crunch! It was topped with butter, shredded like we generally do with cheese. Would have loved if the butter was all nice and melted, but the over all taste was amazing! Main course began with MUTTER KAJU CURRY and SEV TOMATO, along with Phulka, fully home-made and desi style. The mutter kaju curry had way too many peas than cashews, but the sev tomato was just the way my mom makes. She deliberately said that she could make the same sabji, twice as better at one-third of the price, and I bet she can! Now I am not a rice person, but since the name of the place itself was 'Kichidi', I did go easy on the Indian breads and tried a good variety of Kichidis. They also have this concept of half kichidi, but I doubt it'll be able to fill up even one. PANEER TIKKA KICHIDI, MASALA KICHIDI and LILA LASUN KANDA KICHIDI.The first one, the one with the paneer was a bad idea, cause its not a biryani nor its a simple rice dish, but a mix of both, which, according to me, isn't a good idea. The Masala kichidi is the regular one which we all make at home. Lila lasun kanda means the green spring onion, which was something new and was quite a decent choice. To sum up my experience, KOCHIDI is definitely a worth place to try out and it does serve some really good tradationally desi food preparations which will make you nostalgic about the good old times. But the only problem is, it isn't value for money. Not one bit. Who'd pay 300+ bucks for just a half portion of a simple kichidi? It's a simple dish, and you are making it all fancy, but it without a doubt very overpriced. Rich Gujarati familes who visit this place out of curiosity and love for the cuisine wouldn't have a problem affording it, but the question isn't about that. Either price it appropriately, or atleast give a fulfilling quantity. If you want to have Kichidi as a proper meal, you'll easily have to shell out more than 500 bucks, which is pretty insane. Anyway, I hope they keep up the amazing work of serving this niche cuisine, but atleast increase the portion size or make it a good enough value for money. Happy Burping!!!

I came to know that all 3 branches of Khichdi have been closed from 15th Mar and owner has gone unreachable. None of the contact numbers given on the website are working. Any idea what has led to close the restaurant business of a sudden?

We went there because we saw that there are more than 100 types of khichdi but we were utterly disappointed. The food was okish and the price was too high compared to the quantity of khichdi they served. We didn't find any substantial difference between the homemade khichdi and the khichdi they served even though we tried 2-3 different khichdi

We have regularly been visiting khichidi for the last few months and have enjoyed the food. Something has wrong in the last 2 visits. The spice levels have sky rocketed to unhealthy levels. Pani puri , pahadi aloo, chili paneer every dish was laden with red chili powder. This needs to be reviewed and corrected by the restaurant immediately
