In the constant rush of Dadar station, where footsteps rarely pause, there exists a small yet iconic spot that has quietly mastered the art of Maharashtrian street comfort food. While most know Shri Krishna Batatawada for its legendary vada pav, what truly deserves appreciation is how much more it offers beyond that one famous bite. The experience here is rooted in simplicity, speed, and unmistakable flavour. The sabudana vada stands out as an absolute must-try, perfectly crisp on the outside while remaining soft, nutty, and delicately spiced within. It carries that authentic fasting-style flavour but feels indulgent enough for any day. Another underrated gem is the kothimbir vadi, which brings a beautiful earthy depth with its coriander-forward profile. Lightly crisped on the outside and soft inside, it pairs brilliantly with their signature dry chutney and fried green chillies, adding both texture and a subtle heat. The batata bhajiya deserves equal mention, thinly sliced potatoes dipped in a well-balanced besan batter and fried to a golden crisp. It’s simple, nostalgic, and incredibly satisfying, especially when enjoyed fresh off the kadhai. For those looking to explore further, their misal offers a comforting, spice-forward option that delivers warmth and depth without being overly heavy. It’s the kind of dish that feels homely yet packs enough punch to wake up your palate. What truly elevates the entire experience is the unmistakable charm of Mumbai street food culture, quick service, no frills, and flavours that have stood the test of time. The staff operate with efficiency and familiarity, ensuring that even in peak rush hours, the flow never breaks. Shri Krishna Batatawada is not just a stop for a quick bite, it’s a reminder that some of the city’s most memorable flavours come from the simplest setups. Beyond the iconic batata vada lies a range of humble yet exceptional dishes that make this place worth revisiting again and again. A true Dadar classic that continues to deliver, one crispy bite at a time. 🌶️✨

Shri Krishna Batata Wada is a legendary food joint that has been serving people for more than 50 years. It is located just two minutes away from Dadar Railway Station West. You will always find the place packed with travellers, daily commuters and food lovers. I first visited this place with my family. Since then, it has become a tradition. Whenever we are in Dadar, we make it a point to visit this place. I have been coming here and eating their Batata Wada for over 15 years now. As a Chef and someone who reviews food regularly, I truly appreciate how well they have maintained the consistency of flavour and texture. The taste has stayed the same. That shows how sticking to authentic recipes can create a lasting connection with people. I always order the Batata Wada, which now costs 54 rupees for two pieces. Yes, it is slightly higher than usual but the taste makes it completely worth it. They serve it with fried green chillies and no chutneys. Honestly, you do not need any. The filling is perfectly spiced. The outer layer is soft and the coating is light which speaks of good technique. Apart from Batata Wada, they also serve Samosa, Kothimbir Vadi, Ukdiche Modak, Pav Bhaji, Sabudana Vada, Misal Pav, Bhel, Chaat, Rice preparations, Sandwiches, Pizza, Frankie, Dosa, Fresh Juices, Soda and even Chinese food. There is no seating available so you will have to eat while standing. The place is clean and hygienic. The service is quick and the staff is polite. Evenings tend to be more crowded but this is still a great place for a quick bite. First-time visitors should go straight for the Batata Wada with green chilli. It is a simple dish packed with amazing flavour. This place is a must-try for anyone who loves classic Mumbai street food. Once you taste their Batata Wada you will know exactly why people keep coming back. This outlet is located nearby ideal book depot. They serve one of the best batata vada in Mumbai. I also tried missal here which was average. Good place for evening snacks.

The vada size is comparatively bigger than other places and the masala used in it are good. Kindly provide chutney with vadas too. Liked the kothimbir wadi.

It was a pretty decent spot. Heard a lot, but the snacks were nothing out of the box. Batatawada was my favourite, followed by sabudana vada. Poha samosa was too sweet and oily. Kothimbir vadi was also pretty basic.

Tried batata wada and dahi puri, taste is great. However, price is high compared to serving size. Food is fresh as the place is always busy.

Worst vada ever had. They are serving 1 plate of vada(2 vadas in a plate) at Rs.46. I seriously feel those vada plate should not be charged more than 24 Rs. I had a bite and strongly felt need of chutney as I couldn't eat that plane vada with green chillies without chutney. So I asked counter boy to serve any chutney and he asked for 10 Rs for chutney😠😠🤯🤯. In my whole life I ate 2 such disgusting vadas without chutney.I got angree and sarcastically asked him, Aren't you gonna charge me for this paper plate as well?? He replied angreely SETH KO PUCHO. So I want to tell SETH of this place, Aise ghatiya Vadapav k naam pe public ko lootna bnd kr chutney k

It’s a stupid place asking for money for even a chutney. I would never recommend anyone to go to this place where people are not even polite.
