"I'm still drooling thinking about the incredible food and cocktails at One Door Down The moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm and welcoming ambiance that set the tone for a fantastic evening. Our server, was attentive, knowledgeable, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the night. The *food* was truly exceptional - we ordered the Mashroqi cottage cheese and prawn gambas , both of which were cooked to perfection and packed with flavor. The portions were generous, and we enjoyed every bite. The *cocktails* were creative and expertly crafted, with unique flavor combinations that impressed even the most discerning palates. The service was top-notch, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. Overall, One Door Down Restaurant exceeded our expectations in every way. If you're looking for a great dining experience with delicious food and drinks, look no further. We can't wait to come back!"

One Door Down is truly an amazing place to dine! The ambience is cozy yet modern, and the vibe makes you feel instantly comfortable. We tried their burgers and cocktails, and honestly, they were some of the best we’ve had — perfectly balanced flavors, fresh ingredients, and a unique touch in every bite. The presentation was beautiful too! The staff is very polite and attentive, and the service was quick. You can really feel the chef’s effort and creativity in every dish

Visited One Door Down and had a wonderful experience. The grilled chicken fondue was creamy and comforting, the harissa-spiced fish had the perfect kick, and the lamb adana kebab was juicy and beautifully seasoned. The lasagne was hearty and flavourful, but the highlight was definitely the tres leches—light, luscious, and something I’ll keep going back for. Great food, warm ambience, and totally worth a visit!

Just One Door Down from Paradise There's a particular kind of restaurant that Gurugram desperately needs more of. Not another temple to molecular gastronomy, not yet another "world cuisine" spot serving everything from sushi to samosas with equal mediocrity, but something far rarer: a neighbourhood restaurant that actually understands what neighbourhoods want. One Door Down, tucked away in Sushant Lok, is precisely that kind of place. And on a recent visit, I discovered that it's doing something even more ambitious than simply feeding the locals well—it's creating the kind of convivial, music-filled, food-centric experience that transforms dinner into an evening. The Mediterranean by Way of Everywhere The menu announces itself as Mediterranean with "global twists," which could easily be code for confusion. But here's where One Door Down gets it right: they've understood that Mediterranean cooking isn't about rigid authenticity but about a sensibility—fresh ingredients, bold flavours, and food designed for sharing. The global twists aren't desperate attempts to be all things to all people; they're thoughtful nods to what actually works. Take the Falafel & Tabbouleh plate. Now, I've eaten more falafels than I care to count, from the streets of Beirut to the bistros of Paris, and most restaurants in India serve something that tastes vaguely of chickpeas and disappointment. These were different—properly crisp on the outside, fluffy within, accompanied by a vibrant couscous tabbouleh that had clearly been made by someone who understands that herbs aren't garnish, they're the main event. The zhoug was properly fiery, the hummus silky, and the house pickles had that elusive balance of tang and crunch that separates the amateur from the professional. But it was the Sweet Corn Cornetto that made me sit up and take notice. Cottage cheese and sweet corn might sound like the sort of combination dreamed up in a chain restaurant's test kitchen, but here, lifted with spinach, the crunch of walnuts, the sweetness of raisins, and finished with whipped feta, it became something rather special. This is fusion done right—not random ingredients thrown together, but thoughtful combinations that make you wonder why no one thought of it before. When Simple Means Skilled The Angel Hair Aglio E Olio was a masterclass in restraint. In an age when restaurants feel compelled to gild the lily with truffle oil, gold leaf, or foam, here was pasta that understood its own identity. The olive oil and garlic emulsion was properly balanced, the cherry tomatoes sweet against the umami punch of sundried tomatoes, and those shards of fried garlic provided exactly the textural contrast the dish needed. Sometimes, the best cooking is about getting the basics so right that they sing. The Lamb Adana was another triumph. Turkish kebabs require a particular touch—too lean and they're dry, too fatty and they're greasy, underseasoned and they're boring, overseasoned and they taste only of spice. These hit the sweet spot, served with hummus and tzatziki that knew their place as supporting actors, not understudies trying to steal the show. The saffron-spiced manakeesh was revelation, the kind of bread that makes you understand why civilizations were built on flatbreads. The Sweet Finale I'm generally suspicious of desserts with multiple elements—they often signal a chef who doesn't trust any single component. But the Hazelnut Praline Crème Brûlée justified every element on the plate. The maple berries provided acidity and freshness, the miso crème fraîche was an umami surprise that shouldn't have worked but absolutely did, and the hazelnut praline was properly caramelized without being tooth-achingly sweet. This is the kind of dessert that makes you reconsider your relationship with crème brûlée. The Tiramisu was more traditional but none the worse for it—properly coffee-forward, with the biscuits retaining just enough structure, and the cocoa dust providing the bitter finish every tiramisu needs. More Than Just a Meal But here's what elevates One Door Down beyond being merely a good neighbourhood restaurant: they've understood that dining is theatre, and every performance needs a soundtrack. Their weekly music nights aren't an afterthought or a gimmick; they're integral to the experience. The room doesn't just serve food while music happens—the two elements dance together, creating evenings that feel less like dinner and more like the kind of night you'd have at a friend's impossibly stylish apartment, if that friend happened to have a professional kitchen and a rotating cast of talented musicians. This is what restaurants should be doing more of: creating experiences that make you want to linger, order another drink, let the evening unfold at its own pace. In a city increasingly dominated by restaurants where you're rushed through your meal to make room for the next sitting, One Door Down is refreshingly unconcerned with turnover. They want you to stay, to share, to enjoy the music, to make it a night rather than just a dinner. The Verdict One Door Down is precisely the kind of restaurant that makes a neighbourhood worth living in. It's accomplished without being pretentious, ambitious without being overwrought, and comfortable without being complacent. The food is good enough to travel for but casual enough to drop in after work. The music nights add dimension without feeling forced. And the prices, by Gurugram standards, won't require you to remortgage. The name suggests it's just one door down from wherever you are. The reality is rather better—it's one door down from paradise, at least the kind of culinary paradise most of us would actually want to visit regularly.
