About Sharmila Biswas:

Sharmila Biswas is a popular figure in the realm of Indian classical dance,

particularly Odissi. A disciple of the legendary guru Kelucharan Mohapatra, her

journey in dance is marked by innovation and passion. In 1995, she established the

Odissi Vision and Movement Center in Kolkata, where she serves as the Artistic

Director. Her accolades include the prestigious Sangeet Natak Akademi Award

(2012) and the Uday Shankar Award for Best Choreography (1998), among others.

She has graced stages across the globe including performances in the UK, USA,

and Germany.
