About the Event
A parent-child outdoor cookout featuring the flavours of Kashmir. Participants will work in teams of two - one adult and one child - and will learn to cook one BBQ dish, one dip and a dessert, all on the grill!
Elements of storytelling will be woven into the instruction. For eg. How walnut shells are used for dye that women wear on their hands, why meat is such an important staple in the valley, the journey of saffron and how it came to be used in Kashmiri cuisine and the like.
2. Walnut chutney and/or pumpkin and date chutney. Kids will enjoy pound pound pounding all the ingredients with toy dinosaurs, pickup trucks and pretty much anything they can get their hands on. Will it get messy? Yes. Will it still be delicious? Absolutely!
