The Bluegrass Journeymen (TBJ)  is a collective of accomplished acoustic musicians focused on expanding the worldwide footprint of American Bluegrass Music while building cross-cultural connections through collaboration, performance, outreach, education, travel and adventure. Bluegrass music combines elements of old-time mountain music, jazz, blues, gospel, Irish and popular music to create its unique sound. Like jazz, bluegrass allows performers to take turns improvising and taking lead. TBJ has been frequenting India since 2017 performing at major festivals and clubs all over the country while also visiting and sponsoring local school music programs, meeting and collaborating with local musicians and more. While the musical style is primarily American Bluegrass, there are many other musical elements such as folk, jazz, world music, country and more including Bengali folk fusion courtesy of Kolkata resident artist and TBJ band member Nabanita Sarkar on uke and vocals.  Other band members for the 2024 India tour feature founding member Partick Fitzsimons on Mandolin and Vocals, Tyler Grant on Guitar and Vocals (former USA National Flatpicking Guitar Champion), Chris Elliott on Banjo, Andy Reiner on Fiddle (violin) and Michael Rudolph on Upright Double Bass.
