In his 14 years of working as producer and educator, Rivu has found it most exciting to help people deepen their understanding of the things they already find exciting in music — all while teaching people how to work towards their desired goals in music.

So expect to be more intrigued by the things that already pique your interest.

Goals of the session:

-> Work collaboratively on a single piece of music through the duration of the workshop while learning about the practice of music production (composition, arrangement, mixing etc.) regardless of your skill level.

-> Nerding out about music theory and the stuff that excites us all as a collective

-> An intro to Rivu's music in the form of some performance and demonstration

Who is RIVU?

RIVU is a music producer / multi-instrumentalist / music educator based out of Kolkata. He has been working in music professionally for about 15 years and released two concept albums — ‘The Incredible Journey Of Light’ and ‘The Incident 2019’ — both progressive synthwave records. In 2022, he was selected as one of 10 international participants for the 4th edition of FAMLAB, a week-long UK-based collaborative residency dealing with archive films and scoring Besides this, in this time Rivu has played live with several bands on a number of instruments — Parekh & Singh (guitar, bass, bass-synth), Lakkhichhara (guitars), Kendraka (guitars), Dindun (bass), Bodhi & The Omega Force (guitars, keyboards vocals), Preying Mantis (live production, vocals) He has also taught music in various capacities — as a guitar teacher, choir instructor for 9 school musicals, and most recently a music production teacher. Besides this, he has lent his talents to various films, series, advertisements and dance productions.
