Derek & The Cats is a Bangalore-based ensemble led by Derek Mathias. Known for their high-energy instrumental dance music, the collective has earned a reputation as one of India's most exciting live acts. Their new album, People to Meet, Places to See, is a 7-track sonic diary written on tour across India. Each track captures the spirit of a different city or moment - from the laid-back groove of "Cubbon Park" to the high-octane drive of "Techno Police." The record showcases the Cats’ signature blend of jazz, funk and house. Since their debut self-titled album was named one of Rolling Stone India's Top 15 Indian Albums of 2022, Derek & The Cats have continued to grow through nationwide tours and festival appearances.
