I cannot understand why this place has such poor reviews after my last experience here. I mean, really, why ? From the ambience, to the polite staff, the food, the quick service, everything just added up. We had ordered the Thatte Idli, Coconut Sevai, Rava Onion Dosa & Filter Coffee. The Thatte Idli, soft, pillowy, with that Gunpowder that has a kick to it, delicious. Coconut Sevai, warm, comforting, fresh with the vegetables, the nuttiness from the Coconut, and just straight up delicious, we inhaled this as soon as we got it to the table. Rava Onion Dosa, crispy, cooked well, a deliciously simple bhaji at the center of it all, what's not to like. A worthy mention is the Sambar here, it is pretty darn good, a very very good example of what a good Sambar should feel & taste like. Filter Coffee, I would go there again just to have the coffee, that should sum it up. Don't just take my word for it, please go ahead and give this place a try yourself.

One of the best place to have authentic South Indian food. Chef is from South India. They use South indian ghee and masala. Quality and taste is really good. All dishes are authentic South Indian. Sambar and chutney was perfect. A must visit place.

How I Met My Food

This place is indeed value for money in terms of taste but on a personal level, the system of self service for south indian place does not go well for people like me. For a city like Ahmedabad, where we have Kovallam, Sankalp & so many south indian restaurants- in a casual dining setup the self service plan is not a good idea for my type of crowd. At frizbee/ urban chowk & such places - there is self service for everything which is understood. While eating dosa at a casual dining, getting up to get extra sambar/ chutney/ spoons/ etc does not go well for people who are accustomed to Kovallam/ Sankalp (of course the prices there are high there compared to Sambar cafe but they also serve food in better crockery). This was the only lacking point for me at the Rajpath outlet which I visited. Also the chutneys can be improved. But the dosas, podi idli 🔥🔥🔥🔥 & uttapam tasted really good. Amazing food taste at such a good price 👏👏

The place is really soothing...every nature lover will like the place and sitting arrangement. Food is good considering the prices - not amazing but then not bad as well. Very good place for low budget & good food. Though it's self-service, food is prepared quickly with good quality that's good part! This place best suits for morning breakfast!!

Food is alright but its overly price for quantity, quality and ambiance. 120/- for 3 idly and that too self service, 35 chai , too costly. Not worth the money

Insect in the Food I was a regular visitor at this outlet since it used to be very near to where I stay and my son loved the dosa and the outdoor seating. But today we have been shocked after finding a dead fly in my son's dosa and after showing it to the management they put a deaf ear to our claims and suggested replacing the order. There was no apology or any sort or remorse of their own action and they just went back to their work as of its business as usual for them. They even charged for the food because money comes before health. If you are concerned about your health then do not visit this outlet ever. I am feeling terrible for recommending this place to many people in my Network but not anymore. Terrible and disappointing!!!

why is the food so bad? I mean, in what means is it called Sambar cafe when the Sambar is so horrible. I mean if I want to eat store bought chutney, why would I order from the restaurant? and God, don't get me started on Idlis. and most importantly, how the hell did the restaurant get 4.1 star? who the hell is appreciating this place so much?

I was Big fan of this place until 8th July2023 when we were served Dosa with Big fly roased along. To my surprise, the response was so cold that "its monsoon time, flies fly around". Very poor state of aaffairs managed by the local staff, just blocked this place forever.

The food is not good, even they don’t have anything to make the weather cool. The ambiance is even poor.
