Saray by Tanoor - truly delivered an outstanding dining experience! The food was very good, bursting with authentic taste, made with fresh ingredients , you could really taste the quality in every bite. The staff was good mannered, warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming — they made the whole meal feel special. If you’re looking for real, flavorful Middle Eastern food prepared with care and served with heart, this place is a must-visit. Highly recommend — I’ll definitely be coming back!

While Middle Eastern spots are often known for their grills, the vegetarian selection here is the real star. It’s fresh, vibrant, and incredibly filling!

Saray by Tanoor, is one of the few restaurants which serves only Middle Eastern cuisines in Ahmedabad. We went there on Sunday for dinner and without waiting luckily we got the table. In Soup, we opted for Aush Reshteh Soup. It is noodle soup in middle eastern style and had beans, herbs and different kind of spices. This is not your usual soup which you will get easily anywhere in Ahmedabad. Then we went for Mezze Platter just because we could try different types of dips; which consists Classic Hummus, Jade Hummus, Baba Ganoush, Batata Hara, Falafel, Thoum, Salad, Pickles, Turkish Bread & Khubus. Classic Hummus, Baba Ganoush, Thoum & Batata Hara were stand out in taste. After that we also ordered, Koshari: this is the dish for which I visited Saray. Koshari is rice based dish which is prepared with Lentils, Macaroni & Vermicelli, and this is one of my favourite dishes from Middle Eastern. And for desserts, we tried Kunafa for the first time and it was a let down for the dinner or might be trying for the first time, so might take couple of tries to develop a taste for it. The servers were helpful in suggesting the dish and also recommended us which combinations of dips, hummus and pickles will compliments each other well. The only negative point I found that they didn’t ask us for the choice of regular or mineral water

We went to Saray to try out middle eastern cuisine but were highly disappointed by the food. The portion size was moderate but unfortunately the taste was lack lustre. None of the dishes had the complexity of taste which is prevalent in dishes from this cuisine. Everything tasted more or less similar with a repeat of the same ingredients in majority of the dishes. Even though we had heard good things about the place, our experience with the food especially was well below average.

I've been a here a few times. The last several months though has been highly disappointing. They use an insane amount of salt on their dishes and dips as well. The flavor should come with more sophistication than just adding endless amounts of salt. Had the veg shawarma which was not edible at all. Same goes for the koshari. The veg gozleme was average. Somehow even the hummus and baba ghanoush was salty as well. We brought it to their attention and they nicely apologized. but on subsequent visits they just haven't corrected this huge flaw. Overall don't go to this place if you're a vegetarian. The salt levels seem to be too high and more in tune with nonveg dishes. Really disappointed that they haven't corrected themselves. #salt #salt and more salt
