definitely worth it, had a single night stay with my family and was very impressive. The staff members were very friendly , 10 on 10 hygiene . At the end v glad to stay 🫶✨

So, after reading a few reviews online, I decided to go and try out this place. I had made up my mind that the taste would not be good, but to my surprise the food was delecious. I am a non-gujarati gujarati, meaning I do not like sweet food. The thali was not sweet. The sabjis were not sweet and so it tasted good. Yes, Dal was sweet so we skipped that. Overall decent place. Would surely visit again.

This is my favourite Gujarati thali place when in Ahmedabad. They have a great variety of farsan, curries and sweets. Their best thing for me is bedmi Puri which is deep fried in ghee. Also they have an interesting service manners. Waiters here communicate to each other by clicking their fingers.

---------------Nothing Grand only Thal-------------- I had visited the grand thakar thal recently. I was disappointed by the ambience and the poor hygiene. From the interior of the dinning place, to crockery, to hygiene of the staff was really disappointing. Further, the table at which me and my friends sat, had a pile of mineral water bottles just beside it. The management should really think about where to put surplus items. Plus, the set of extra thalis were also lying on the floor. This makes me really question the hygiene maintained at the restaurant. There were some storage compartments in the pillar near where we sat and all of them had cello tapes across it. Aesthetically, a severe disappointment. However, the food was good. I found the food to be tasty. However, the service was pathetic. I had to wait almost 10 mins to get a second serving of the kadhi even when the restaurant was not full. Management needs to train the staff better, maintain hygiene, cleanliness and redesign the interior. Better to avoid if you prefer hygiene over food taste.

They were not providing zomato or swigy payments. But they had registered for the same. When asked for it they were rude. Sweetness was not there in dal and sabji. So that is a positive point. The hygienic is not good. Spoons and plates were not washed properly. Overall there was a lot of noise between waiters.

Quality of food is worst. 04 vegetable is mentioned in description however only 3 veg was delivered and that too with very inferior quality. All 3 veges are loaded with food color. Dal was worst ever, it was like sugar suyrup. 04 fried farsan is mentioned in description we got only 01. Rotis were half burnt and half cooked. Puranpori looks like puri stuffed with halva. I dont recommend The Grand Thakkar at all for any food item. Even road side food would have been better than this.

Absolutely pathetic food. Just finished having their thali ordered through Zomato. The various sabzis were tasteless. You couldn't make out one from another. It was like having roti with a messy mixture of lots of oil, food color, sugar and chemicals. One of the worst food experiences of my life. Even the damn dhokla was bland and had not even risen. Me and my family just want to puke right now. Pls return our money.

I see a vegetable market inside the TGT. It was too much noise inside the dining area. Also waiters/manager were shouting to call any item. I had a headache after finishing the horrible Lunch. Taking money before entering dining hall, so the bakra doesn't escape from the cage. Food was just OK..not value for money compare to other Gujarati Thalis of Ahmedabad.
