I read some of the previous reviews mentioning the pathetic service by the restaurant, but i still visited the same on 10th of May 2024 and would like to brief about a few points. 1. welcome drink is still being served, yes sometimes they forget but upon being reminded they serve (photo attached) 2. khatta pan/sour taste in dosa and idli is as a result of fermentation which is essentially needed to fluff the idli as well as softness and texture of it else it will be like rubber type. 3. Their service is still like the old times only 2 to 3 people are there to serve so it takes time and also the same method of dosa serving in plate with sambhar and white chutney with garlic and mint chutney as sides, less people so time taken is more. 4. On menu its mentioned preparing time atleast 30 mins overall taste is and was good minor ups and downs, service all good ab godhi mei toh alar baithey gay nahi, ambience as before some dim light for soothing effect, and yes a bit costly but once or twice a month can be managed.

The south Indian food of the tamarind tree gives you perfect satisfaction. Not too spicy, just perfect. Panchvarna uttapam, dosas, idlis.. everything tastes great. It's also a good dining place. It's particular menu is south indian and Chinese.

Prologue My wife had been to the cafe once and had raved about the food. I was a little sceptical but am a sucker for dosas so off we went again The good Ambience. Efficient, chilled out, a little miserly The bad We literally had to fall at their two feet to get them to switch on the a/c The ugly Food, food, food. It is one thing to serve food, cooked by incompetent chefs, quite another to serve, stale, reheated almost unsafe food. A summary is as follows Dosas - batter had gone bad so it was sour. I wished, I had a time machine to go back in time and savour the dosa from about 3 days ago? Upma - if the dosas were the eye opener, the upma sealed the deal. The veggies had gone bad, a while back and looked slimy and tasted unsafe. The noodles that we ordered were fine, no complaints. I have had bad food before. This was downright unethical of them to serve bad food and charge a bomb still

Idk how this shitty place comes in a 4+ rating on zomato. May be its a paid rating. In last 2-3 years it has become a horror house. If anyone wants to do a breakup with their partner, its the best place. Coz the staff and food will make your temper go so high that you might either leave empty stomach or after a breakup. Even after complaining about horrible food, and excessive salt they did not even apologise. Replacing the food was not even a dream. Iceing on the cake - The staff was so thick skinned that on complaining, they bragged that they serve food like this only and everyone likes it. 😂

Being a frequent visitor to this restaurant, it not expecting some privilege I atleast expected some professionalism from the staff rather they are rude, ill mannered and lacking etiquettes. For first timers they would offer welcome drink and all. But if they see you as a frequent visitor they starts behaving as if they are taking you for granted. Even when someone hasn't finished their meal they would come with bill and taking your plates. I wouldn't suggest or recommend anyone to visit this restaurant at all.

The service is really very poor. The waiters are way too arrogant. They don't listen to the customers at one go. The availability of welcome drink that they offered is upto their own mood and depends on customer to customer. There might be chances where the other table is being served with welcome drink and you are not. Worst service that one can offer.

Tamarind tree used to be very good at their services.. And now they have stopped their welcome drink. the service people were rude.. Its so overpriced and the dosa sambhar they served were presented very bad... they should improve their quality and service.

The food is not at all up to the mark not even close to one. I ordered a simple Rawa Idli, the idli was sticky, the rawa used had a old ration taste. The sambar was not good, taste was not apt and it was nit hot. The cooking time was too long for an idli.

the food was decent but the owner/manager was arrogant. he would reply to our questions as if he's doing ehesan on us, the customers who pay for his salary. the service was also very slow. not recommended.

I am still amazed by the 4+ rating. The food is pathetic. One can get a better dosa from a roadside eatery. It is overpriced and the quality is really bad.
