The title of the review is what I want to say about this restaurant. Having tried the other famous food joints in Amritsar (Makhan, Beera), I now know that sometimes restaurants don’t get all the reviews they deserve. We looked up so many places to try in Amritsar to satisfy various cravings but for ‘non-vegetarians’ this is the ultimate lip-smacking, mouth-watering, fulfilling restaurant. I could give 6 stars if possible. 1 extra star for the personal attention and interaction by the owner Amarjeet Singh Ji. We ordered Amritsari Fish fried, Mutton Tikka Special (Dry), Tandoori Chicken and Chicken Biryani. Fish Tikka was crunchy on the outside and soft & juicy as well as boneless on the inside because the fish was fresh, sweet water fish. Tandoori is the BEST we have had so far. In all of Punjab, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Delhi, Agra, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Himachal, Prayagraj, Pune, Mumbai, Nagpur, Tamil Nadu, Andhra, Kerala, Kolkata, Madhya Pradesh , Puducherry included. One should try Tandoori chicken when at Surjit Food Plaza. It will change your idea of Tandoori Chicken completely which you may have tried anywhere in India before. It absolutely amazing! Mutton tikka special was on a whole other level with soft, juicy, boneless, mutton pieces in a rich creamy masala. Chicken Biryani was the owner’s special preparation with a unique boneless chicken biryani which had all these flavors and aroma, slightly high on the spice level but totally delicious.

Situated approx 5.5 km from The Golden Temple, Surjit Food Plaza is a hole-in-the-wall food joint that's heaven to those looking for a meaty affair. Was looking for non-veg food which we didn't find near The Golden Temple for obvious reasons so started searching for something on Zomato (keyword: Amritsari Fish Tikka) and found this. One of the reviews said it was better than its competitors so we decided to risk it and travel all the way there just to try it; and I'm glad to say they didn't disappoint. The Mutton Tikka (dry) was mind-blowing. We're not a mutton eating family because we've had bad experiences in the past but each and everyone of us thoroughly enjoyed it. It was the highlight along with other lip-smacking dishes like Chicken Malai Tikka, Fish Amritsari Fry, Tawa Chicken, Dal Makhni (so creamy), all wiped off with lachcha paratha and tandoori roti. Not to mention the impeccable hospitality by the owner of the place who runs the joint... My sister has a headache and he immediately arranged for a medicine. Right after that she felt better and was fully and heartily ready to enjoy the scrumptious spread. Also, we were so engrossed in eating all the amazing dishes that we missed clicking pics. 🤦🏻‍♀️🙏🏻

Went there to eat the Amritsari Fish Fry but also asked for Chicken Tikka. On Amarjit's suggestion had the Tandoori Chicken too. Amazing taste and with absolutely no artificial colour added. The Tikka and Tandoori marinations were both different which is normally not the case in big restaurants. To finish off, had the Dal Makhani, which honestly was much better than another iconic dhaba in Amritsar, with soft Tandoori Rotis. Full marks for taste and authenticity. Definitely recommend to anyone appreciating non vegetarian food.

As a tourist,went to makhan which was overcrowded,then tried beera which was dirty,smelly and seems overhyped and thank god we went to this hidden gem called surjit food plaza.The place is small but the dishes are probably one of the best we have ever tried.Being a foodie and well travelled,I have tried food in many cities in India and abroad and surjit food is among the best and a must try in amritsar.well done surjit food for your food and hospitality..keep up the good work..cheers...

Talking about the food of Amritsar, especially Non-vegetarian I think you should for once think about stopping at this place and try their food. I've heard stories of Surjit Food from my Parents when their outlet was there at Nehru Shopping Complex. I don't know about that time but I think I would've still loved it without any reason. Please eat their Methi, Rara and Tawa Chicken. You'll love it.

Hidden gem in Amritsar, amazing food , the Amritsari fish was so good, the food was amazing too, anyone who is looking for great non veg food that is highly recommended by locals, please visit here, avoid visiting overrated places like makhan and charming, this was great

Superb fish / tandoori chicken and mutton tikka. The best non veg in Amritsar . It’s a hidden gem in Amritsar.
