I don't know what all the negative reviews are about, but i dead assure you it ain't true. Maybe it's given by people who don't understand Ambur Style biryani but it's the best that you can get in Bangalore. Having had over a hundred different biryanis in and around Bangalore and having some fine Ambur biryani from the city of Ambur itself, I can't tell you that if not the same it's the closest to the best that you get there. Everything is just perfect and my family loves it every time we dine or order from here. So people who don't understand this style or never had it before, please visit Ambur and try it out there to know what such biryani should taste like and then give this a shot. 5 stars for this outlet

Food was awesome. Management is good and prep the food on time. Also thanks goes to Zomato for delivering the food on time. Overall it’s best.

Excellent biryani. Very light and flavourful. For those who like flavourful fragrant biryanis this is the best biryani you can taste.

We as a family are big fans of the Ambur style of Briyani and most importantly the Original Since 1890 Star Briyani outlet specifically in Ambur. Having tried from their outlets in Chennai, and in Bangalore, nothing matches the flavour and authenticity in the Ambur outlet. Recently on a drive back home from Indiranagar, we noticed the Star Biryani outlet in Indiranagar, in Akruti Chambers. And before making that big decision of buying, as always I went up and asked them politely if I could sample some briyani before deciding to buy. Yeah I do that, most of the time before trying out a new restaurant for Biryani, have never been turned down. If you are polite, they are polite in offering too. After the first mouthful I decided to order as it was as good Ambur Biryani as you can get in Bangalore. Ordered their mutton bucket, mutton boti (not the intestine) masala, two portions of Chicken 65 or as we Bengalurians call it, the Chicken Kebab. Did ask for the bread halwa, apparently they do not make it here. While waiting for the order, I got chatty with the staff and asked them if the Briyani comes from Ambur or a central kitchen in Bangalore. I was told that the Briyani masters are from Ambur and it get's made in a central kitchen here in Namma Ooru, that explains the almost close to the original taste. Brought it home, reheated it in a double boiler and devoured some delicious Ambur style mutton biryani, was extremely happy with the taste, flavour and the mutton quality. It usually so happens, in most places that when you order a single portion you get few but extremely good quality mutton piece(s), but when you order a family pack or a bucket biriyani, usually you get more small pieces of the meat, but not the best quality, more with bones or some fatty ones. That happened here too, and there were tiny bones that hindered the connection between me and the briyani. This inconvenience apart, the Briyani is highly recommended and ensure that you order individual portions as opposed to bulk bucket ones. The Chicken 65 was perfect, beautifully cooked, with that delicious reddish orange colour, and the flavour was just right, mildly tangy, bit spice and seasoned to perfection. The Mutton Boti was good, but the meat to bone ratio was a little too much to justify the cost, flavour was perfect, though it needed a bit more salt. Overall a great experience that I would definitely recommend, especially when you can avoid that drive to Ambur. Do try and share your experience.

Ambur Star Briyani Since 1890 is the branch of the chain that originated in Ambur, and claim to have the most authentic and original Ambur style biryani. They originally had a medium sized outlet near the Forum mall, but have since moved into the main food strip - right next to the Empire hotel in Koramangala, with a huge outlet. They've also expanded their menu to include some Veg/ Non-veg curries and Indo-Chinese dishes. This rounds off the experience for a group visiting - as not all the folks will want a biryani. The Koramangala Lunch Group has had this on our list for ages, and we finally got around to visiting it this Wednesday. A bright and cheerful exterior was further complimented by the same look inside as well. The place was empty by the time reached (around 1.15pm), but luckily had a few tables filled up in about half an hours time. We ordered the Ambur biryanis (Mutton, Chicken & Egg) along with a chilly chicken. The biryanis were served along with their excellent thick brinjal curry, and the diced onions in yogurt (not thin like a raita, more like an onion salad with a curd dressing). I loved my biryani. Had without the gravy - it had a mild flavor with lovely aromas. Not spicy at all, and a dish where you can easily finish off the entire helping (it was large sized) without any sides/ gravies, and still feel really good about it. None of the obscene levels of garlic/ tomato as seen in the other "local" Ambur biryanis around town. Add on the brinjal gravy/ onions/ side dish and the whole thing morphed into some thing else - lots of pepper spices, and the subtle biryani was subdued into total submission. Delicious this way too! Pricing was slightly high - about 320 for a mutton biryani and 240 for a chicken biryani. But given the non-dingy interiors, good flavors, and decent service, I'm good with it.

At a very good price, felt satisfied having a lunch here. Kabab and biryani served in a plantain leaf made it feel so much like a ambur meal 😋

Now this is not at all acceptable from such a famous chain of restaurants. When we ate at the restaurant yesterday the biryani and the chicken 65 was amazing and fresh. Packed some parcel home. Extremely oily biryani and the chicken 65 was charred beyond recognition. So was the ambur chicken fry. For the amount they charge isn’t it reasonable for us to expect some quality? This is not the first time, whenever we have picked parcel from here, this is the same story. Inspite of telling them. They do not take feedback in stride. But THIS IS IT! Our final GOODBYE to STAR BRIYANI! Even my son who is a die hard star biryani fan said he wouldn’t want to eat here ever again! P.S. we have to throw away the chicken because it was scary to eat it. Feel so guilty about it. But giving priority to health. Humble advise to fellow foodies, there are better options for u.

Hi Bangalore people please be aware that this people are the froud in advitising in the delivery portals stating that leg soup/ Paya soup & they will provide a piece of the paya n say full paya soup...it was really an day mare .... Be careful with this people don't trust them blindly ask / check before you order with them before getting disappointed after order ... Which is worth less...
