Bhartiya jalpan is my go to place for chaat ever since their first outlet in Indiranagar. I am so happy to see them grow since then across the city. After a long time decided to take my parents to the New BEL road outlet for brunch. The Aloo Tikki chaat was particularly impressive, mom said it reminded her of Delhi. Of course, the water of a place makes a lot of difference, but for us, the taste here came closest. Next tried Pani Puri which is served so cutely; the saunth and spicy water come in super cute copper canisters. Chole Bhature is a must try here as are the crispy Jalebi with Rabri. In beverages, Soda Shikanji and Jeera Lemon Soda were superb and perfectly complemented the food. There's ample seating on both the ground and upper levels with clean washroom. Will definitely be back.

We enjoyed the chaats, the puri platters, chola bhatura and Thali. the chole is particularly good. This is one place where you get authentic North Indian flavours from Delhi and UP unlike many other so called North Indian places in Bangalore. I suspect that is why some reviews are not good - the food here is not your typical South Indianized version of North Indian food. The service was also good.

I went here on recommendations from a friend. Good clean ambience. We tried chole bhature, palak patta chat, ginger tea and mango lassi. All the items were great. My friend accidentally spilt his lassi. The staff replaced the whole drink again without any extra charge. The manager was very sweet. Will visit again

Dahi Puri was good.. but... was asked to park in no parking spot, waiter can speak only Hindi. had to ask to be served water. food was not good. drinks were too sweet. stuffy ambience, no ac and too noisy (right on main road near signal so too much honking). quite pricey for the quality of food, service and ambience.. will not recommend

We as a family of 8 reached the restaurant at 9.40 in the evening and the waiter gave us a very unwelcome look. We looked for a table to sit and were surprised to see it very empty on a weekend evening. We identified a table but it wasn’t clean and there were used tissues lying on the floor. After getting them to clean it up we settled down. The waiter came across gave us a menu and said that we will have to rush with the complete order as they don’t take orders beyond 10. This rudeness put us off. As we were a group we asked for an extra menu to help us decide. They went looking for a menu which they finally got after a few minutes from their first floor. The plates that were brought were wet. After the washing they were not wiped. During the course of the meal we asked for tissues. A few loose tissues were then brought and kept on the table. Aren’t they supposed to bring them in a stand. Even the rotis that were served were of poor quality. All in all a very bad experience. Seemed like the staff don’t seem very interested. We wanted to complain and asked for the manager. We waited for very long but he didn’t come and we finally walked across to give him our feedback. We are foodies and love going out but sad to say this has been one of our worst experiences. If one needs to understand how not to run a restaurant then one needs to visit Bhartiya Jalpan on New BEL road. Sincere advice to the management is: please don’t focus on just opening a dozen branches. Unless and until you can pay personal attention, don’t go on opening branches. You are killing whatever goodwill you have earned. It is also very important to train your staff well and have responsible managers. Please remember the motto of any good and successful restaurant is Atithii Devo Bhava

My dad and I were terribly disappointed with this place, especially considering the steep pricing. Charging ₹170–₹200 for something as simple as dahi puri is hard to justify—and the execution made it worse. The dahi was served separately in a glass as part of some “presentation,” which completely defeats the purpose of properly soaked, flavorful puris. To make matters worse, the puris themselves were not fresh. It’s no surprise the place was nearly empty, aside from a few flies. The biggest letdown, however, was the channa bhatura priced at ₹290. The channa was an unappetizing greyish-black color and tasted stale, while the promised paneer was barely present—just a few scattered pieces that didn’t live up to the dish’s description on the menu. We also tried the samosa pav, which was equally unimpressive. Honestly, it’s better avoided altogether. Adding to the poor experience was the unwelcoming ambience and lack of service. Despite it being 6:50 PM and their stated service hours beginning at 7 PM, the staff made no effort to attend to us. Overall, this place is simply not worth it—overpriced, poorly executed, and disappointing in every aspect. You’re far better off visiting any local chaat stall for a more authentic and satisfying experience. This outlet seriously needs to reconsider its standards.

This place is overpriced and doesn’t even hit the quality. The ambience is the only good thing here. I’ve ordered two dishes to try and by looking at the ambience I hoped it would have more veggies and a healthy version of the poori, but the Dahi poori and the Sev poori that I ordered has the same poori that is used by every other chat vendor. The stuffing was very very minimal as you can see in the picture. The taste was also exactly similar to a small chat vendor. I don’t really understand why am I paying 170 for a dish to experience the same taste at a normal chat vendor.

There was an insect in the samosa, hygiene and cleanliness is the last thing on their minds. this is a breach of trust especially being a pure veg restaurant
