Mita service team and head chef Akhilesh and team recommended us to go for mutton wazwan. Mutton curry was excellent. Awadhi biryani and Kolkata biryani were good and kababs were marinated well and were tender and delicious

Absolutely Should Be Shut Down: A Complete Disaster in the Name of Kolkata Biryani We visited Biriyani Queen in Sanjay Nagar near New BEL Road on a Sunday afternoon after seeing the impressive 4.5 Google rating. As people who genuinely enjoy Kolkata biryani, we were excited, especially after seeing the long list of biryani varieties on the menu. The first thing that caught our attention was the fact that the restaurant was completely empty at 2 PM on a Sunday. Apart from the three of us, there wasn't a single customer throughout our visit. We should have taken that as a warning. We ordered two Kolkata style mutton biryanis priced at ₹519 each, one kids' biryani, two stuffed tangdi kebabs, a lassi, and a buttermilk. Before serving the food, the staff informed us that bone-in mutton wasn't available and asked whether boneless mutton would be fine. We agreed. When the biryani arrived, we were genuinely shocked. The mutton consisted of tiny broken pieces that looked more like leftovers than actual chunks of meat. There were barely 7 or 8 pieces, and most were incredibly small. For a dish costing more than ₹500, this was simply unacceptable. The rice itself was even more disappointing. Dry, pale, bland, and almost completely lacking in flavour. The potato, which is one of the defining elements of Kolkata biryani, was equally tasteless. This wasn't just a bad Kolkata biryani. It wasn't even a decent biryani. The stuffed tangdi kebabs looked good from the outside, but the filling was oddly sweet, and the chicken inside was rubbery instead of juicy and tender. After we politely pointed out the tiny mutton pieces, the staff brought a small bowl containing a few more broken pieces in gravy. Unfortunately, that only made things worse. The only decent items we had were the lassi and the buttermilk. The staff were polite and tried to help, but good service cannot compensate for terrible food. Please don't rely only on the 4.5 Google rating or the 4.2 Zomato rating. Check the recent one-star reviews before deciding to visit. For us, this was one of the most disappointing dining experiences we've had in a very long time.
