TRULY A TREND SETTER Some back reference: Since my childhood (which I spent in Gujarat) I always knew that South Indian food always has two default accompaniments - Sambar and Chutney. This was something wired in my mind since childhood. I was very curious when I found that Brahmins serves South Indian food without Sambar and in fact a liquid chutney takes up the role that otherwise Sambar plays. With this curiosity I headed to the nearest Brahmins outlet. My experience: I truly felt blown-off with the experience of Idli-Chutney dip, Idli-Vada dip and I am going to visit this place more often that other close by Idli-Sambar Vada-Sambar eateries Location: Its located in an extremely pleasant, green residential layout. Large trees, vegetable vendors, flower vendors just make the location very soothing. The outlet has a few standing tables and a few seating arrangements. Best part is the seating right outside the outlet under large trees. I visited on a week-day afternoon when it was sparsely crowded. But I am sure it would be getting very crowded during rush hours. Food: Absolutely amazing - is what I can say. We had Idli-Chutney dip, Vada-Chutney dip, Kharabhat with chutney, Masala dosa, Plan dosa and Filter Coffee. Idli was melting in mouth, Vada was fresh and crisp, Kharabhat was a tango of tastes, Masala dosa was heavenly and Filter Coffee was out of the world. Best part is the chutney which is slightly on spicy side and hence very comfortably replaces the Sambar's void. Prices and Service: This is a self service outlet. Staff is always keen on removing used plates and cleaning the tables. Prices are very much on the lower side. Signing Off Hiral Amodia
