Had a fish craving while in bengaluru.... Was looking around and found this place on zomato... I was pleasantly surprised with the fare that they had to offer.... A completely new experience of choosing your fish ....and then having it cooked right beside your table in a style of your choice while you slowly sip your favourite drink... Having read the previous reviews, I had to try the butter garlic prawns.. they were just awesome.. I would also recommend the pan seared pomfret, and the tandoori red snapper. Balanced it of with a manglorean style prawn curry rice... Worth a mention is the head chef Nachiket who was well versed with the fish cooking styles and displayed superb skill on the live grill

Very well lit place for a breezy evening. Fresh sea food to taste for. I loved the well cooked prawns and pomplet. The chef takes personal orders and cooks accordingly.

I love the concept of live station/ live cooking. It was an exhilarating experience. I felt a connection with the chef and he really altered the dishes to our preferences. My favorites were the quail 65, calamari and arabic crab. Th food was really great. The only disappointment was the desserts.

I have always had a soft spot for Seafood though I am a hard core meat lover. Very few restaurant want to take up the mantle of solely focussing on seafood as it can be bit of a risky proposition especially with the sentiments of people in our country. Bangalore does have some excellent choices for seafood lovers though there none that I know of which offer seafood as their main draw.   A major disadvantage for us Bangaloreans in the location of our city with no immediate seacoast visible hence making it difficult for fresh catch to be made available. In that way, Chennai is blessed with abundance of seafood available and I was lucky enough to try a restaurant showcasing fresh catch to be made when chosen by the customer. For a long while, I wished I could visit Chennai just for another visit to this restaurant and it seems those wishes were just answered in the form of FISH FACTORY, a restaurant recently opened within the premises of Citrus Hotels on Cunningham Road.  There was no doubt that a visit was in the immediate future and my hubby and I finally decided to have a quiet and relaxed dinner on a weekday. Citrus Hotels though located in the middle of Cunningham road, known to a busy area holds its own with a impressive presence. Fish Factory has its own entrance and one would be quite taken up with the beautiful wall planters decor which runs through most of the dining area. Every table is laid precisely with appropriate cutlery fit for a fine dine experience. One end of the restaurant is dedicated to showcasing the fresh catch of the day from Lobsters, Tiger Prawns, Scallops, Crabs to various kinds of fish. One of their Chef’s is also available to explain about the various choices which can sometimes beguile you at first glance.  Our evening began with a hors d’oeuvres of Salmon and Mussels. The Salmon was perfect to begin the meal and the mussels on bread was indeed appetizing. The pleasure of dining in such restaurants is the privacy provided to the guests to relax without any unnecessary intrusions giving time not only to savour every course but also with one another. Our attendant brought us the next course which was a different take on Prawns tossed with soya sauce tossed giving it a delightfully crunchy taste. The Lobster soup shot was a bit strong for my taste though it was literally just a gulp.  During the course of our meal, we heard strains of music coming from restaurant and realized there was a musician in the house playing some delightful oldies as well as latest chartbusters though of the pleasant pleasing to the ears kind of music. We had taken a walk to the area showcasing their fresh and decided on King Prawns and Lobster as one of the courses. I was pleasantly surprised to see a medium sized cart fitted with separate grilling and a cooking section at our table and the two selected seafood courses being prepared right at our table.  I love Lobster though never tried putting my cooking skills to the task of trying a Lobster dish. It was a wonderful experience watching the Chef in action and the final product was a delight to the eyes as well as senses. As happy as I was with the Lobster, I was looking forward to one of my favourite seafood – King Prawns tossed in butter garlic which once again was cooked right beside our table. Though we really did not think we could eat another morsel of food, we did not realize time pass by thanks to the wonderful music in the background and catching up on our week between sips of their cocktails.  For the Main Course, we decided to try the fish with my husband going for the Black Pomfret and I deciding on King Fish. The dish served to my husband was called Samak Harrah and since I wanted a bit of spice in my dish I got the Pan Seared King Fish in Peri Peri Sauce and Butter vegetables. Dessert was more or less a lost cause thanks to the extremely heavy and filling main course but the sight of the dessert perked us up a bit enough to take a spoonful of each. My hubby loved the crepes which was served specially for him.  A very fishy evening indeed but in the most delightful and entertaining fashion would be the words which come to mind about our first visit to Fish Factory. If you love Seafood and have an eye for experimenting then head here coz the Chef would get it done just as you like it!

The newly opened Fish Factory Restaurant is a paradise for seafood lovers providing heavenly bliss. It has a unique and different concept where Chefs run the show. You can select your catch of the day from the cold storage and it is cooked in a movable stove trolly in front of you at the table. It is a pleasure to watch and an appetite booster. There are three sauces to choose from: Barbeque, peri peri and Arabian Samakhara. You can also join in making your own dish. Food-Impressive Presentation. Exemplary Variety. Everything on the menu is extraordinary. Mocktails are great and refreshing. Quail 65 was fantastic. Succulent With an outburst of flavours on the palate. Highly recommended. Salt and pepper Calamari was outstanding. Exceptionally soft. The spice and taste was top notch. The orange glaze on the Roasted Duck was brilliant but the meat was tough. Crab was sumptuous and delicious to say the least. Definitely excites the tummy. Though it was a little bit messy I relished it. Prawns were remarkable. Fresh, juicy and crunchy with the butter garlic cream imparted to the last bite. Tandoori Pomfret Fish is incredible. Marinated well and perfectly grilled. Overall a Feast for the belly, treat for the eyes and is sure to leave you craving for more. Seafood Biryani was excellent. Aromatic rice mixed in masala with tempting pieces of squids, prawns and fish. Mangalorian Fish Curry was superb. Right thickness, richness and texture of a typical Indian Curry. The desserts were delightful. Loved the zest and smoothness of the lemon mousse cake. Simply irresistible. The Tiramisu was nice as well. However lobster is average and can be improved. Ambience- Amazing layout. Spacious arrangement. Comfortable cushion chairs for seating. Marvellous outdoor decor with a lot of plants and grass. Beautiful scenic environment. Exuberant yet calm atmosphere. Cutlery table cloths and plates give you an elegant feel. Fabulous lighting. Spectacular display of sea food, ingredients and live cooking. Service- Splendid. Staff is quick, friendly, efficient, knowledgeable and courteous. Wonderful hospitality and a quintessential fine dining experience. They take all efforts to make your meal a memorable and enjoyable one. Quality standards is impeccable. Citrus Hotel valet parking available.

This place is a big fraud. We landed in the middle of a birthday party occupying the whole place inspite of having a reservation. There was no staff or service worth mentioning. No menu was offered and we were offered only a choice of two fishes. The chef and the manager looked hassled and the chef was doubling as a waiter. On complaining there were only startled expressions by all concerned. The hotel should shut down the restaurant and promote it as a banquet hall. Go to this place only if you are desperate and hungry.
