Decent ambience, fair prices, decent preparation though very limited menu esp if you are a vegetarian. Less than competent staff (you know when they avoid your gaze when you try to call them without being loud or start moving towards you but change direction all of a sudden), the mandatory scanning and surrendering your phone number to them to be able to order were a put off. I mean if you’re eating roti and curry with hand and need to top up another roti, you have to pull out your phone and spoil your clothes (I asked the waiter do you not serve someone who doesn’t carry a mobile or whose device is drained off?). Cigarette smoke filling into the inner sitting area is a put off when you are with a young family, and we had to change to a closet type room (shouldn’t it be the other way round that I put smokers in a confined area like at airports?) What left a sour taste after putting up with all this was them surreptitiously adding a 7.5 percent service charge. Why don’t you have the courage to increase the list rates directly? And when they reluctantly agreed when I cite the Supreme Court order, they just reduce that amount from GST added bill which means you are still paying GST on a charge you refuse to pay. Worst part, the waiter would just repeat that he has removed the charge but has no mental facility to understand what you are trying to say and the senior would come and try to belittle you by saying “just xx rupees difference Saar”. My logical self won’t go there again but those who are ok with such practices won’t be as worse off.

House of commons used to be good a year ago. I don't know what they changed, the management or waiters or what. But placing an order was so inconvenient like going to govt office for getting aadhar updated. First the hostess gave us a table but when tried ordering through QR code it kept on failing, when called a staff he said this table is booked you need to move on another. but nobody was sitting there, no reserve sign nothing, not much crowd either. then we moved to other table , there same problem happened. We had to try atleast 4-5 times just to look at menu and place order. staff also not that helpful. After that when ordering drinks, I asked suggestion from waiter on their bestseller and none of them knew what's best in there house. Come on man, this place used to be fun. No music, no good beer, nothing. Disappointed.

it is not the same as it used to be. we were enjoying with our friends and a single random person started abusing us and the restaurant Said pay your bill if you are done and took his side.it has become a local bar no service atmosphere or food. not recommended if going with female friends
