Had a lovely dinner yesterday at Memories of China. The food was lovely and service was impressive. Honestly, my expectations were far exceeded by the restaurant. Each dish was tasty and flavourful and the portion size was good. We had the edamame and truffle oil dumplings, Crystal Chinese pok choy and spinach dumplings, lotus steam with sesame seed and honey, burnt garlic fried rice, pan fried noodles in brown sauce, fried tofu and shitake mushroom in oyester sauce and for desserts we had darsaan. All dishes were good and must try.

Visited Memories of China for a special occasion earlier this week. Whether it is food quality, service, or the ambience, the restaurant did not disappoint. We were served by Ms. Pooja and Mr. Prashant who were very friendly and polite, and attended to all our requests. Highly recommended to visit at least once. Special thanks once again to Pooja for arranging for a very special cake and making the occasion so memorable!

I had the bestest birthday celebration here yesterday. The food and the service were all excellent! The restaurant manager Murali is the sweetest man. He gave us complimentary cake, desserts, and a birthday gift! Special mention to Rupa and Mamta for their service. Definitely try their steamed prawn cheung fun, Crab soup, chilli pork.

Came here for the second time today. Can confirm that it’s still just as good as it was when I came in for the first time. The food is excellent! The service even better! Special shoutout to Mr Harshit for coming in with the chocolate mousse I requested for despite it not being a part of the menu. Would recommend 100%!

Visited Taj MG Road Bengaluru for their Sunday brunch with family on May 10, and unfortunately the experience was deeply disappointing and nowhere close to what one expects from the Taj brand. We had made a reservation one day prior for May 10, but their system somehow showed it as May 11. Mistakes can happen, but what followed was far worse. After finally getting a table, we waited nearly 20 minutes just to be served water. For 4 guests, only 2 glasses were placed on the table. Almost 30 minutes later, one server was kind enough to arrange additional glasses and water. At a hotel that markets itself on hospitality, basic courtesy and guest service seemed completely missing. The food itself was average at best — nothing memorable or worth highlighting. The most surprising part was how poorly the non-veg starters were managed. They were placed far away near the live grill counter, difficult for guests to access, and unbelievably there were no serving spoons or tongs available for the dishes. Then came the ice cream counter. My son went to get ice cream only to find it completely melted. The explanation given was that the refrigerator was “out of order.” Seriously? A premium Sunday brunch at Taj, charging premium prices, and the dessert freezer is not working? Eventually, after asking the staff, they brought some chocolate ice cream from inside. The final disappointment was the attitude of the manager. When I raised these concerns, his immediate response was, “No, it’s not possible.” That completely killed any expectation of accountability or customer care. While they did offer a discount on the bill, that does not compensate for poor service, lack of hospitality, and dismissive behavior. Honestly, many normal hotels in Bangalore deliver far better hospitality and customer experience than what we experienced here. Extremely disappointing for a brand like Taj.

Food here is not at all good in taste. Any other restaurant or Ritz/ Oberoi/ even the other Taj restaurants is much much better than here. Veg as well non veg items were a huge disappointment. We had gone for our anniversary celebration hoping it to be a great experience, however it was just a wastage of money, time as well appetite.
