During the Bangalore trip, many plans changed, but having lunch at Nagarjuna was the first checkbox ticked. The tagline — Since 1984 — lured me in. The place was decent, with valet parking, and since we went early, we got seats quickly. Telugu cuisine never disappoints. The Meals were exemplary. The Mutton Biryani was good — better than I expected — though it wasn’t very spicy. The Chicken Fry, which was suggested to us, was the only disappointment; it was quite average. I should have opted for the Chicken 65 which my friend suggested. It was not a regular Chicken 65 but four leg pieces deep fried in the same fashion. I thought the quantity would be huge for us so didn’t order. My bad. Also, when you order meals, there are already plenty of side dishes, so it wasn’t really necessary. However, it still tasted good with Chapathi. In retrospect, spending ₹350 for a Veg Meal may not be very recommendable. There are numerous Andhra messes that offer similar taste with better value for money. But for that day and that experience, I have no complaints.

meals is good. but the mutton biryani we ordered we the worst we had. 1 boney piece and 1 fat piece.

The quality has gone down so much! We used to love Nagarjuna. Indiranagar branch still had some quality but lately that’s also gone down. It’s not gonna be our go to Andhra place anymore.

Good veg thali and mutton gravies, but the portions of the side dishes were less as compared to the price.

Had a very disappointing experience with Nagarjuna Restaurant Indiranagar Bangalore! The veg thalli was extremely limited with no vegetables served, only a pakora curry. Food was spicy and as a vegan when I requested for coconut or thill oil instead of ghee, it was declined. Didn’t enjoy the meal, we were 7 of us there for lunch today, went bcos of my recommendation! Will not be going back! Unhelpful staff. Unwillingness to offer an alternative and being ‘cold’ about it is harsh in the hospitality industry! Chitra Ravi

Beginning the year at Nagarjuna was the best decision. Even though it was crowded, Somashekar, Raghu and Shivraj took care of us. We’ll be back very soon for the delicious bhojanam.

This place is such a hype, never thought that Nagarjuna will be this disappointing, as I heard a lot about this place. I went with my family and we ordered Nagarjuna special Chicken (pathetic) boiled chicken was added in the green curry, fish was very bland and basic, paneer was okayish. they are not maintaining the quality of food be it Chicken, fish or mutton. Kulcha was like naan and not at all like kulcha. and dropped in the curry. I would not recommend this place, this is just a place with a lot of HYPE. Such a waste of money and overly priced

If as a vegetarian I enjoyed the meal so much I can only imagine how non-vegetarians feel about this legendary gem!

Ordered Chicken Biryani and veg thali (Bhojanam). The food was very basic. The chicken biryani should be named chicken pulao as there were absolutely no characteristic of a biryani in it .. Lots of black pepper, and that was the only taste. The biryani did not have any essence and the chicken pieces were over cooked. It seemed as if the dish was prepared in a pressure cooker. The rice in the Biryani was sticky which should have been individual grains. I think the place is over-hyped and definately not upto the mark. Also to be mentioned, the staff, one of the waiters walked away while we asked something related to the food. That was highly arrogant of a behaviour.

A cockroach popped out of no where when I was trying to have dinner. Sad part is no one took any action or offered any apology when I reported. Not exactly the kind of place I will visit again. Aren’t there any laws or regulations that enforce certain level of cleanliness at food place? It was a disgusting experience
