Great food….but have to wait for the seating to be arranged …but the place and food …it’s all worth the hype. Enjoyed Goli soda something nostalgic, pottalam chicken parota was yummy and there signature Dindugul Biriyani was the star out there.

Pattikattan Biryani is a new place in Electronic City that promises to serve authentic cuisine from the state of Tamil Nadu and I have been meaning to try them since I got to know about them a couple of months before. We ordered a Sankara fish fry and a boneless Chicken 65 to start the meal, while decided up on the Manpaanai (earthen pot) dum chicken parotta, a Chicken dum biryani, and a Mutton dum biryani, both the seeraga samba variants. Though extremely dry, the Sankara fish fry was a decent version from which we were able to scrape off the meat flipping both sides and enjoy the flaky white meat. The chicken 65 was a very decent version, yet missing a bit of that authentic kick that one would usually expect. We started with the Manpaanai dum chicken parotta. It was a good version, but a little disappointing that while the meat was overcooked, the masala in the kulambu / salna was not completely cooked through and hence we got a bit of that raw masala taste which was off putting. The parota however was beautifully cooked through in the earthen pot, and was good, and would have been great if the gravy also would have been cooked through well. Both the biryani were surprisingly very well made and we loved it. The flavour was onpoint, and I could get distinct flavours different between the chicken and mutton, and the quality of the seeraga samba rice was explicitly evident in the wonderful cook on the rice and that distinct aroma that simply elevated the meaty flavours of the biryani. The chicken biryani came with two leg pieces, yet the mutton biryani had 3-4 pieces of bony pieces and one meaty piece that was overcooked. We ended the meal with a Nannari Elaneer Sarbath, which was a bit too tangy, nevertheless very refreshing. We did pick up mutton biryani and mushroom chettinad curry for parents back home and were loved by them, but dad did share a similar feedback on the quality of mutton in the biryani, something that the brand should look into improving. Next time if I end up in this part of town, I would love to try their basmati rice biryani and the non-vegetarian meals. Do try them out and share your experience.

Very expensive. The quantity is also not up to the mark. Service is very bad and extremely slow. I think the place is overrated.

Very worst service! Waiter mentioned no mutton at all. But I see mutton being served for others. No knowledge what’s available at all. Quantity of food items are very very small. Chicken 65 pieces were very small and hardly few pieces in a small ice cream bowl 😁 Very slow service. Quality of the hotel become very worst. The cinnamon flavour of biryani is more unusually than before. For those who think it will be more in this type of biryani, I know how more, I’m a Tamilian. The only reason I go to this restaurant is dindugal style biryani and it has become worse now. Very very less items available in the menu. Just an example: they had only one starter and that is chicken 65. Whatever we ask, very plain and dull unpleasant answer from waiter “illa sir”. And it is not late before restaurant closes. I came by 8 PM in the evening. Very disappointed and will never visit again. Oh I forgot this, for the quality and quantity, the bill they charge is unbelievably high!

The first time visit was good, then slowly the tradition of this restaurant went for a toss. Last time I ordered mutton meals, but except mutton flesh, all are just fat and bones. It is pattikattan employees over smart, it won't work all the time.
