I have been to Conservatory upwards of 5 times for pop-ups in the last few years. This time I was there for the Knots and Crosses Sandwich Shop experience but it was very underwhelming. First, let’s talk of the food. We ordered 2 starters - pomme dauphine and thick cut fries - both fantastic. And 3 sandwiches - mushroom melt (4.5 ⭐️), roasted pumpkin (2.5 ⭐️) and the bear beef (2.5 ⭐️). And the dessert - tiramisu - good but not memorable. But more importantly, I’d like to talk of the experience. The experience was for 1,200 cover charge each, so for 3 people it was 3.6 k. We ordered 2 starters, 3 sandwiches and the dessert. Which was more than enough for 3 people. We had to stuff ourselves. And then was informed we still had a decent amount left on our cover. My issue is either the cover was too much or have the drinks covered by the cover charge or offer more small plates or more dessert options (there was one). We were forced to order a take away sandwich which we didn’t want. And this is not because we ate less or anything. And my third and final pet peeve is the cocktail - which we had 1 each - was decent but ridiculously overpriced at 800 per drink plus tax.

Usually conservatory works well, but the smash guys pop up was super bad. When booking they showed 6 burger options for vegetarians, which is rare and hence I booked. But at the slot, they had just three burgers. Magically decided to remove three options on which they already collected money & no communication. Best part- they had two veg starters- onion rings & fries. And they ran out of onion rings. And the seating and ventilation was bad as well. Overall bad , with no explanation. Don't take money upfront if you can deliver what you charge me for.
