The place is located in the heart of the city, close to Race Course Road and MG Road. So definitely a brownie point here. This seems to be an old property which has been franchised by ITC Fortune a few years ago. It is divided into two annexes, one with the Health club, and the other with the swimming pool. I had the opportunity of meeting Saravanan Dhanabalu, the Cluster GM for this property as well as the neighbouring five star Fortune Park J P Cosmos. A thorough gentleman, he, along with his trusted and soft-spoken team member Gokil, and the super active FOM Sampath, took pains to inform how they are revamping the entire property, the travails during Covid times, their utter adherence to guest satisfaction, and their plans ahead. Being a Cluster GM is no mean feat, and I found myself warming up to him, his entire persona reflected the core experience of decades behind him. The Rooms here are comfortably largish, with ample pacing space. My room 5522 had a good roadside view from the 5th-floor window, a large King sized bed with pristine sheets, ample light, a well-functioning AC and a moderately well working Wifi. Unlimited drinking water bottles. Two large mirrors on the walls. A 32 inches LED TV (Didn’t check for HD Channels). A great aqua area with a pressure-pumped telephone shower in the bathroom and adequate toiletries supply. A hairdryer. Adequate charging points on each side of the bed. The Orchid restaurant again is an expansive place, headed by the Executive Chef Rajesh Ashokan. Chef Rajesh is a winsome personality, an artist in his métier, who prides on his work which incidentally is a work of art in itself. Barely a month and a half here, his Marriott legacy earlier ensures that there is no stone unturned in the quality and the variety of his offerings. I had a dinner buffet sitting, and the food absolutely stunned me. There was a decoratively arranged salad and papad station. Talumein Chicken Soup and Roasted Carrot Ginger Soup. A Mango Fish Curry – a superb innovation. Likewise, for Lotus Stem Shrimps – jumbo-sized. Dhaba style chicken. Four veggie options, Rice, Tadka Dal, Rasam. In desserts, there was an awesome Beetroot Halwa. The fruit custard was okayish. There were Rasgullas and there was Strawberry ice cream. Whoa! Full marks! The breakfast spread was not that glamorous, but I was promised that there would be a drastic change in the offerings beginning in May 2022. I simply loved the place. I promised them a repeat visit very soon.

This place was amazing. We went at around 4 when we did not expect any proper food. However we got Chicken Dum biriyani and Rosemary Grilled Chiken. The food was amazing, sumptuous and also filling. The rice was perfectly cooked and the Chiken was equally good. Very soft, tender, juicy Chiken. Really impressed with the food and ambiance of the place.

We tried their buffet breakfast. The spread was decent across Veg as well as non Veg spread. The service is good and staff is very pleasant. Place is clean and well maintained. What is recommended as sure try - Non Veg - cold cuts, sausage, grilled chicken were all very good. Egg preparations were done to perfection as per order. Veg - Idly, Vada, Upma were exceptionally good. Tea and Filter coffee were also very good. Fresh Juice counter, flavored yogurt and muesli options were very good and had sufficient variety. French toast and pancakes were dry, lacked taste and could be skipped. South Indian dishes in veg were exceptionally good. Be it the upma, tamarind rice, dosa's, idly and vada. Idli's are so soft and fluffy that I have not had such soft one's in hotels ever. The sambhar was the typical tamil style and good in balance. Chutney's were all fresh. Poori and aloo were also non oily but aloo gravy could be slightly more tangy and salted. Every item was hot and replacements were quick. Bakery items can be improved on. What can they add - little more bread variety like a multigrain, Maize, sour dough What they can improve on food - Bakery items. The danish and croissants was not as soft and flaky as expected and cakes were dry Overall rated as - Service - 4.5/5 Food - 4/5 Ambiance - 4/5

Great place, great view. The staff is very courteous but the service time could use some help. Great options for vegetarians, the non-veg options weren't as great though, surprisingly.

The items was minimal, and the taste didn't live up to expectations. Overall, a rather disappointing experience.
