TN-81 is the pincode depicting the regions around Trichy, Tamil Nadu, and brings out the bold flavours of Tamil cuisine to Namma Bengaluru I have been eyeing TN-81 Taste of Tamil Nadu for a bit and I was thoroughly impressed when I had ordered a parotta salna combo here. Both the parota and the nool parota were fantastic, but it was the salna that was the real star. It is hard to master the salna, mostly outside the deeper parts of Tamil Nadu and I have tried, including Chennai, only to be disappointed. But TN-81 has perfected this in both the vegetarian and non-vegetarian version and the flavour is stunning. With this good experience I ventured to the outlet recently only to sample the biryani and if satisfied take back a portion home for lunch. Needless to say I came back with a bunch of their offerings and I thoroughly loved each one of them. They apparently did not have mutton biryani ready on a Sunday noon so I had to settle to sampling their Chicken Biryani, loved the mild flavours and packed home a Chicken Thokku biryani, with their Maharani Chicken, alongside a mutton sukka. While waiting for the food to be ready and packed away, the greedy me, shamelessly sat for a hot parotta with their non-veg salna, thoroughly enjoying it as a mid-noon snack. Once home, I swiftly unpacked the food and started devouring the Chicken Thokku Biryani, which was a spicy affair. The biryani was probably cooked with chicken hence the flavours were mild, not as bold as a mutton biryani would be, but that portion of rich pepper heavy with-bone chicken thokku was something that elevated the flavours of the biryani. It was definitely a great combination to be paired together. The Chicken Maharani was a decent version of boneless chicken chunks in a mildly spicy red gravy, something in between a South Indian and a Chinese variant, good, not great. The Mutton sukka brought back the focus on true South Indian flavours, it was spicy, punchy with bold mutton flavours that was a great addition as a side to the biryani, but would have wonderfully complemented a bowl of hot white rice or a parota even. A very rustic place, yet very hygienic, staying true to the flavours down south, highly recommended for their lunch and dinner options. They are open from 12 noon till late evening serving dinner with their kothu parotta variations, which I would want to try soon. Do indulge here and share your experience.

Not listening to what the customer wants in their take away. After seeing the food only will come to know something is missing. it's not the first time.. Happened at low crowd & 3rd time.
