Its a lovely place, went there many times and every time they stood up to my expectations. A must go place for foodies. Loved this place and food.

Liked their cocktails, especially the gin bases ones. The food was average and it is fairly priced. Probably a bit can be done towards the ambience.

After spending around 3 months in Bengaluru, I had to move back to my hometown Bhubaneswar due to personalreasons. However, to explore a new food place was always in my list of to-dos. So, I chose @newmarrion ; illustrious, standing through ages and a well renowned place. Hungry Monkey review for Ivy Bar(for drinks), Mirch Masala(for food). The hotel has 3 multi cuisine restaurants & a classy bar. You can order drinks at bar & the food can be served from the in-house Mirch Masala restaurant. Ordered Items: Ginlet, Tom Collins, Beer, Tandoor Pomfret, Tomato Soup, Muttom Curry mini thali. Ginlet: A simple & refreshing drink. What stood out for me in the drink was the inhouse prepared Lime Cordial with which Gin is mixed. Normally Lime cordial is more sweet with subtle twist of Lime. However, here it was opposite. It had a typical lime flavor with a subtle twist of sugar. A must try. Tom Collins: Another basic & cool drink. It was decent, but not upto the mark compared to the aforementioned ginlet. It has lime syrup, sugar syrup, a cherry for garnish & soda. Tomato Soup: Tasty with fried bread chunks. What I liked was the texture of soup. A good soup especially tomato one should be judged based on the texture. You shouldn't add more cream to give it a creamy texture. Even though the soup I had used cream in it, they didn't over do it which was good. Tandoor Pomfret: An absolute favorite. Its not tawa fried pomfret with tandoor masala how many serve. It was fresh (you can feel from the touch & smell), done to perfection. Spice, salt, tenderness were all to the point. Must try. Mini Mutton Thali: Rice, Onion salad, Mutton curry. Nothing an Odia loves more than mutton. Fresh, tender and tasty. It exactly served the purpose. It was classic Odia mutton curry and immediately satisfied my palate to foodgasm. Damages: INR 2600. Worth it. Verdict: Food is too good, Drinks can be given a shot. Needs more focus on cleaning & replacing old crockery. Masks were missing. No proper hygiene standards. Stewards are not wearing masks properly. Hygiene is big let down. This is not expected from a premium hotel like Marrion. Hence deducted 2 stars 🌟

Its an OK type bar and most of the visitors are regulars of middle and elderly age. Drinks are bit peicey in comparison to the class and atmosphere of the hotel. If you want corporate discount, inform them before billing.
