I was genuinely thrilled to hear that Chandigarh’s first Pan-Asian restaurant was reopening, but unfortunately, that excitement proved to be rather short-lived. The moment I stepped in, the familiar charm and nostalgic essence it once held seemed entirely absent. Coming to the food—quite frankly, it was a complete letdown. I began with the vegetable dumplings, and to my dismay, they barely resembled what dumplings should be. It felt as though I was simply eating raw vegetables wrapped together—there was no finesse, no seasoning, and absolutely no depth of flavour. It was so underwhelming that it almost put me off dumplings altogether. Next, I ordered the wok-tossed noodles, hoping for some redemption. Sadly, they were equally disappointing—bland, uninspired, and something one could easily find at a roadside stall, if not better. To add to the experience, the staff lacked both warmth and professionalism. There was a noticeable absence of product knowledge, and their demeanour came across as rather indifferent, if not outright rude. All in all, it was a thoroughly disappointing visit. The place bears no resemblance to the legacy it once carried, and my first visit post-reopening has been such a disaster that I see little reason to return.

🤮 🤮 🤮 🤮 🤮 🤮 I recently visited Asia Kitchen by Mainland China, and honestly, it was a very disappointing experience. The food was absolutely pathetic. The moment the dishes arrived, there was an unpleasant smell that instantly killed the appetite. It felt like the food was either not fresh or poorly handled. Even after trying a few bites, the taste did not improve—it was bland, stale, and far below expectations for a place with such a reputation. Hygiene and quality seemed completely ignored. When you go out to dine, especially to a well-known brand, you expect a certain standard, but this was nowhere close. The experience left us feeling uncomfortable rather than satisfied. On top of that, it turned out to be a complete waste of money. The pricing does not match the quality at all. You end up paying a premium but receive food that doesn’t even meet basic standards. Overall, I would not recommend this place to anyone. There are many better options available where you can enjoy good food and value for money. This visit was truly disappointing. 🤮
