Back to Source - cafe well-being On our recent trip to Chandigarh, Went to “Back to Source” in Sector 17, post a high recommendation from a friend & and it definitely lived up to all the appreciation.. hence sharing our experience. First tip: don’t go without a reservation. When we reached, there were already guests waiting for tables, and so did we. But the vibe of the place was so good that we didn’t feel like going anywhere else, and the wait was worth it. The single crooner performing retro English songs set such a beautiful mood for the evening. We ordered quite a spread — beetroot falafel with hummus platter, crispy potatoes sautéed in butter garlic and herbs, Neer dosa with vegetable korma, chicken hummus with pita, and fish tikka. Each dish lived up to its taste and presentation. In drinks, we went for a hot toddy and an espresso martini, and they were spot on for a cheers moment. 🍸✨ Honestly, we were having such a good time that I missed clicking pics of the rest of the dishes mentioned, but trust me, they were worth it. The floor manager, and his team who ensured everything went smoothly and checked in with us regularly. That attentiveness really sets the place apart. The mushroom pasta was absolutely amazing, loved it. The coffee was great. Just the outdoor service was a little slow rested. Everyone was pretty good overall. Nice experience.

⭐ 1 Star Review - WORST SERVICE I have been a loyal customer of Back-To-Source for a long time and have recommended it to countless people through word of mouth and social media. However, my recent experience was shockingly disappointing and has completely changed my opinion of this place. I had booked a table 6–7 hours in advance, clearly spelling out my name and number. The staff member on call pretended to note it down, asked me to repeat the spellings, and assured me the reservation was done. But when I reached with my family; whom I had specially convinced to try this place; the manager at the reception rudely claimed that no such booking existed. She even showed me her register, and my name was nowhere. The attitude was unapologetic, dismissive, and absolutely unprofessional. What was worse was the way she spoke to me and my father. Instead of listening, she became defensive and aggressive. I actually had to ask her to calm down; something no customer should ever have to do. Eventually, my father had to contact senior officials at Sector 17 just to get us the table we had already booked. Throughout our visit, the same staff member kept glaring at us and deliberately ignored us while greeting other customers. The hostility was obvious and extremely uncomfortable. For a place known for its hospitality, this behaviour was unacceptable. My issue is not with Back-To-Source as a brand, but with the staff ; particularly the woman at the reception; whose attitude was discourteous, unprofessional, and misleading. Unless there is a serious improvement in the staff’s professionalism and customer handling, I will not be visiting again, and I cannot recommend this place to anyone.

I visited this cafe around 6:40 PM hoping to enjoy some coffee and eventually stay for dinner. Unfortunately, the poor customer service completely ruined the experience. When we arrived, we were seated at an uncomfortable table. I noticed that most of the other tables in the establishment were completely empty, so I politely asked the staff if we could shift to a better spot. Surprisingly, they flatly denied our request. I asked again, pointing out the numerous available tables, but they continued to refuse without offering any valid explanation. It was incredibly frustrating and made us feel entirely unwelcomed. Because of their rigid and dismissive attitude, we decided to leave and take our business elsewhere for dinner. It is a real shame because we were planning to spend a good amount of time there. I cannot recommend this place if you value basic hospitality and accommodating service.

So I have been a regular here, but with the passage of time, the staff have become rude, showing no interest, enthusiasm, ignoring guests, one will feel stupid here! I mean, man you are in a service line? Such arrogance?Uneducated and stupid staff.

everything today was just disastrous. all the dishes were cooked with less of salt and was not upto the level of back to source. had to return one dish even due to poor taste
