Black Lotus, the Chinese speciality restaurant, serves the best, most authentic Schezwan cuisine in Chandigarh. Located in the heart of the city, at Sector 17, the property is close to all major shopping hubs and business centre’s and a famous all time favorite destination for many of the Film stars, Politicians and Government Officials. The menu features a wide range of exotic vegetarian and non-vegetarian delicacies. The elegant space is sectioned into a split-level restaurant, a cosy private dining room and a glitzy bar, along with an all new poolside alfresco. This is Luxury at its finest with the staff ever-ready and delighted to serve you. I recently got a chance to try their new dinner menu and here is my review regarding it. Having dinner at poolside along with bonfire was amazing experience.  Food: Lavish and cooked to perfection. The best thing is Taj has inbuilt kitchen where they make their own spices and other mandatory essential cooking products, which is one of the main reason behind the perfect taste in the food. It started with a vegetable corn soup. Moving on to the starters we were served water chestnuts – my all time favorite, spinach & corn dumplings and crispy corns. I really loved the dumplings and crispy corns were bang on.  In the main course we had Fried Rice, Stir Fried Tofu and Hakka Noodles. Coming to desserts we were served Ice Cream Spring Rolls (Highly Recommended) and fell in love with it. Everything was perfectly cooked. I really appreciate the safety measures being taken at Taj keeping in view the current scenario i.e. Covid 19. Overall a great place with luxury ambience, great food, friendly & supportive staff. An experience never to forget. Thanks Team Lotus for being a great host! Highly Recommended!! I'll be back soon with my friends and family. Cheers! 🙂

The concept of Sunday brunches is slowly gaining popularity in the city with restaurants and hotels coming up with lavish brunch spreads and the newest one in the league is Sparkling Black Lotus Sunday Brunch at the Black Lotus by Taj. The ambiance of black lotus has a lot off use black, red and gold with beautiful lighting to liven up. Adding up to this was the live music performance. Dimsum & Bao Festival at {uid:1941396} We were spoilt for choice, the huge spread of Dumplings left me feeling like a kid in a candy store, didn't know where to start, and once started, I couldn't stop! 😅 From the texture of the Dumpling Skin/Wrappers, to the fillings and the dipping sauces, each stood out on their own! There was no similarity in any of the two dumplings, from the Pork Char Siu Bao having some sticky sweet and really fantastic Umami flavours, to the slightly spicy Chilli Garlic Chicken Dumpling, the Juicy Steamed Prawn Crystal Dumplings to the very intersting Edamame & Avocado Pan Fried One's. Each one was just fantastic, bursting like bombs of flavour in my mouth. In my books, it's an absolute Sin to bite into a Dumpling, you've gotta dip it in the sauce and just gobble the whole damn thing up!! And the dipping sauces, they all were Spot On, but I totally digged the roasted tomato chilli sauce, the chef speciality and inspired by Nepalese Cuisine! In all it's a one off experience that's on till May 1, 2022.

Went here last night for a light meal. Ordered for lemon coriander soup which was very nice. Dimsums were exceptional. Light and delicious. Also had stir fried brocolli which was also nice. Ambience is superb, very classy and perfect for special dinners or celebrations. Good selection of cocktails and wine only adds to a lovely dinner. Will happily go again to try mains.

from the service to the food, the entire experience was terrible. When we asked the waiter what the specialty was, he responded glibly and with zero clarity with the statement “this is the best restaurant in tricity, you can order anything” We went ahead and ordered pan seared fish, crispy lotus stem, and soy chicken- the food was incredibly disappointing. The lotus stem and fish was oily and tasted like it was fried in dalda. I fell ill the very next day with food poisoning, so I’m guessing it wasn’t the most hygienic either. We paid a hefty price for this terrible terrible experience. Not expected from a restaurant in one of the best hotel chains of the country. No surprise it was empty the entire time we were there.

Extremely disappointed. Booked a table in advance for a bday lunch for 10 people. Waited fr an hour fr 3 starters though we were the only table when we came in. Food came in after 1.5 hours and after complaining about it consistently nothing happened. Kids were complaining for food and all we got in the end was a have a good day. No wishes fr a bday lunch and nothing. Not the kind of hospitality we expect out of taj. Very very very disappointed

A most disappointing experience of our food journey in life. Can without a doubt rate it as the worst meal ever had in a restaurant. Food was bad and service slow and worse. Went yesterday for a birthday dinner…tried prawns, pork, fish, noodles and rice dishes, all tasteless …. The restaurant needs a complete overhaul

Very bad experience, it wasnt at all a Taj restaurant. The table was dirty, the napkins needed to be asked for, the food was cold, the service was so poor, there wasn't anything right in the lunch today. Never going there again.
