I am writing to share feedback on the recent visit to your outlet in Mohali. It was my first time visiting Daryaganj, as it has been really hyped. I saw it after the episode aired on Shark Tank India. Honestly, my family and I had very high hopes for a great time, but things turned out completely different. So we visited on 15th of July. There were four of us, and we had made a prior reservation on the Daryaganj website. We were allotted a table immediately upon arrival, which was good since we were a little late for our reservation time. We ordered two starters initially, which were good, so we started developing our taste. After that, the starters we ordered were really tasteless—they were bland and lacked flavor. The tasteless starters were: Tandoori Chicken, Dahi ke Kebab, and Paneer Tikka. Since the first two starters were great, we ordered three more starters that were very ordinary and lacked taste. There was nothing special about them. I would say that Daryaganj is relying heavily on marketing, to be honest. I mean the price I paid for these starters does not justify the quantity served. It was very below-average. This was not enough. The main thing which disappointed me was the main course. Since Daryaganj has flagship products—Dal Makhni and Butter Chicken—we decided to order both the original versions. They were served quite late because the restaurant got busy, the main course took almost 35 minutes. This was disappointing as we expected it to be worth the wait, but we were completely wrong when the food arrived. The taste of both dishes was completely below average and below the hype. Honestly, these two dishes are my favourite everywhere I go around the world. I would rate the Daryaganj Butter Chicken and Dal Makhni half a star out of 10. Both dishes were completely full of salt. Both dishes had no taste at all. First, we were disappointed with the portion size compared to the price, but that was acceptable. They may disappointing was more disappointing because when you pay a premium for the brand, you expect good food. In our case, it completely lacked flavor. I have had much more delicious Dal Makhni and Butter Chicken elsewhere, and it was shameful to experience this at the restaurant that claims to have invented them. Honestly, my hopes were mainly on the main course, but the entire course of starters and main course was disastrous. I definitely want to convey this personal feedback to the owners because this is not expected. If this is the standard, we won’t be returning or recommending anyone to visit Daryaganj. We expected great premium vibes at a premium place, but only the ambiance was good, the food's taste was lacking. It was nowhere near what one would expect from the claimed founders of these dishes. Also, it is unclear whether this is Daryaganj's normal taste or if it was just an off day. I am quite sure the Sharks must have invested in a good venture that truly values customers and their feedback. We paid a staggering 5300₹ amount for 4 pax for the experience, but honestly it was really really not worth, and I really hope that the feedback team would get back to me with the solution in what they can do best for me or else they gonna lose Customer like this with their poor taste and the dissatisfied customer satisfaction
