What are the chances of you bumping into Rekha Bhardwaj, the famous Bollywood singer and Dr. Ashish Chopra (one of India's most renowned Food Blogger, author, Television host, for more info checkout: the culinary historian) over a lunch!  Well, it so happened with me @ Rustles, and oh boy, was I in for a surprise! Rustles, for years was entering obscurity, only now has the management decided to prep it up and put it back on the Food-map of the City beautiful, moreso, as it lies in the middle of Gedi route, right in Mountview. I was there to cover 'The Great Punjab Food fest' (Experiencing the Lost Flavours from the Land of five rivers). The Man behind the action Chef Harjinder Singh aka Sweety Singh (celebrity chef) makes all the dishes while reciting Sukhmani Sahib, a tradition he has carried on from his father. This is exactly the way the Langar dishes are prepared in the Gurudwaras with recitation of the Bani.  Coming to the Food, the non-veg preparations stood out. Sole Macchi de Sharabi Kofte (soft Sole Fish Balls marinated with Rum, best to have them alongwith boiled rice so the flavour of the curry comes out), Sweety Singh da Special Keema Meat (Fresh Mutton pieces which melts off the bones and is a delight for the palate), Malerkotla da Makhni Kukkad (to die for Butter Chicken, I just couldn't have enough of this and dug into the chicken with getting my hands messed and enjoyed it thoroughly, this was so good that you'll remember the taste after weeks/months of having it). The other dishes were Bhatti Wala Bataun da Bhartha Matar Naal, Methi Paneer, Kachari Karela, Shah-ji de Saag Kofte, Kadi Pakora, Mah Amritsari, Gulab Jamun, Kheer. Out of these I'll recommend Shah-ji de Saag Kofte for the Koftas were stuffed with a sweet Beetroot stuffing which was a pleasant surprise when you dig into the soft Kofta. The Ambience is pleasant, the carpet is soft, the woods are polished, seats are comfortable. The only thing which needs immediate improvement is the Staff training, all the CITCO employees have had a laid back job for years and now they are being shaken out of their moulds. A zing in their steps and smile on their faces would go a great deal in customer satisfaction. All in all a wonderful experience. A few more Food Fests like these and it's time to put Rustles back on the tricity Food-map. Cheers!

When there was no Taj or JW Marriot in Chandigarh, there was Mountview! The sole 5-star hotel of tricity, where we used to celebrate our special occasions and oblige our close associates. And after all these years, Mountview's main restaurant, Rustles, has not changed a bit - be it in terms of decor, flavours or their warm hospitality. After experimenting with the new places for more than a decade, when I visited Rustles again, it was the time of World Tourism Week and there was some Punjabi Food Festival going on. As we had to opt for vegetarian meal, the spread of this food festival for vegetarians didn't seem much appealing and hence we resorted to a la carte. We were served a la carte at Round the Clock instead, which was a pleasant change from the dull and gloomy ambiance of Rustles. The glass windows of Coffee Shop gave the glimpse of special performance of some artists in the lawn outside. Although the food was sourced from Rustles to the coffee shop, there wasn't even a slightest lag in service. The servers were polite and prompt, just like they always used to be.  To begin with, we ordered Badam Ka Shorba which was wholesome and nutritious broth of ground almonds. Among the main course we ordered - Kofta Naram Dil and Kadhai Khumb with Hara Pyaaz. The Kofta Naram Dil, was actually too soft and mushy with dumplings of cashew paste and cheese in perfectly blended tomaty gravy. At the same time, Kadhai Khumb had a rich flavour with a base of caramelized white and green onions. Not getting enough of its mushrooms, we opted to get another dish packed for home - this time Mushroom Matter, which was impressive since it had no trace of starch in the gravy and very homely flavours. With its warm hospitality and assuring flavours, Mountview will definitely win back its old clientele.

This review will be having its own special value I visited this place for The Great Punjab food festival. So first about Rustles. Its fine dining and attractive interiors will please you. The service is good but needs a lot of improvements. Now coming to the actual thing about the punjab good festival. Due to some miscommunication we were there at the wrong time and all this was due to zomato. But still they attended us Mr. Ashish chopra was our host and the guy who is responsible for this whole event The food served was good Especially the chicken kofta and mutton Evenly cooked and flavour were good. As the time was not correct we faced some little issues But those can be ignored I want to mention the great hospitality by Mr. Pradeep there. Overall it was all great . And i am no one to judge the food of such great chefs . But i must say you can easily distinguish the difference in quality used
