Not so popular or heard about, situated in some distant part of Mohali, the restaurant is compact yet styled with a beautiful decor and abiding by the basic rules of a fine dining restaurant. I am usually more than happy when I see the table properly set with cloth napkins and cutlery in place. It is advisable and economically wise to go for the buffet. For the vegetarians, they offer 4 starters with soup and a one-time welcome drink. In the main course, they have a limited range, paneer, dal, one of the other vegetarian dishes (like chana, mix veg etc), steamed rice, noodles, manchurian and nearly 2-3 salads with veg raita or plain curd to choose from. In the desserts, there are ice-creams and gulab jamun. First of all, something that pleased me to the extent of wonder is the fact that their food is of unsurpassed quality eventhough it was in bulk, in buffet and it was as fresh as if served right from the pan! The soup, hot and sour, was however too salty. However, the thickness was in check and soup was soothing. The starters were not cooked in low quality stale oil like most of the restaurants do. Honey chili cauliflower was well cooked and coated with not too sweet honey, again, it was a bit too salty. The seekh kebab, filled with minced boiled dal and vegetables and baked like normal seekh kebabs, but garnished with a lot of chat masala, which was a bit disturbing actually. The soya tikka, well frankly, it was a vegetarian's chicken tikka roasted to perfection. Tandoori aloo were the regular tandoori alu with same stuffing as seekh kebab. And then came a beautiful surprise in name of hospitality. When we ordered for another round of selected starters, including Tandoori alu, we were told that they don't have pre-cooked tandoori alu and the new set of starters would take about 20-25 minutes, we were rather suggested to choose something else. And we were offered Paneer tikka and sesame potatoes. A gesture which was quite beautiful on their part, because the starters served later were not on the menu of the day, moreover, we almost tasted 6 starters! This is something which wouldn't be a minus point of their just-in-time preparation but would earn them a golden point on part of their hospitality. Paneer tikka was surprisingly soft cottage cheese grilled in minimal spices and sesame potatoes were nothing but honey coated saggy potato fingers. Coming to the main course....its a good example of quality beats the quantity. Limited variety yet good quality food. Noodles were cooked in a proper balance of oil and salt and were fine like maifun (rice noodles). Manchurian were soft dumplings of boiled veggies stuffed in a thin batter and dipped in runny sauce. Paneer, once again, fresh chunks of cottage cheese in spicy gravy, unlike most of the places, it wasnt loaded with onion and capsicum, but a lot of cheese. The steamed rice were good quality medium sized rice. Coming to the desserts...Gulab Jamun, which will give you a homely experience. Their in-house Gulab jamun, so fresh and almost mushy, not too sugary and with a smoky flavour as if baked in clay oven. One of the best gulab jamuns I have ever tasted. Whether it is hospitality or the quality of food, Lime is extremely impressive. It is highly recommended by me. It may not have won the attention of many because of its location, but somehow, it is a paradise in a long lost island!

The hospitality here is very delightful. I went for a stay and that included a breakfast buffet. Food was good and genuine in quality . Cant compare to any big 4 or 5 stars hotels but it was good enough .

The expectations of this review is the positive change in hotels offerings. This was my second visit to Tulip. This time we had an office party of 40 people. First of all I will start with food. There is a huge scope of improvement in the quality of food specially taste. The mutton had watery gravy as it wasn't cooked properly. The monchow soup wasn't good either, except butter chicken I believe other things require improvement. The ambience of the restaurant is good however the party hall is simple plain tile based hall which doesn't have anything exceptional. The AC's were not effective either. In any party, the DJ is the main thing, however the DJ which couldn't make people dance for lengthier time. I mean people were just going off and the music selection was so that the rhyme couldn't make people dance. Below are the abbreviated scores : Food : 2.5/5 Ambience : restaurant 4, party Hall 1 Pricing: 3/5
