5/5 - The legacy continues💯. Have heard about Maris meals from my dad who told it's a legendary place in Chennai and the place spoke for itself. The vaazhai elai meals was simple but the taste was too good and all the people serving were too kind and quick to serve food❤️❤️❤️❤️. 100% would recommend ❤️❤️❤️

Pretty good old fashioned Southern Indian food. Nice meals. Good sambhar and rasam. In the afternoon and evening, you can enjoy nice bondas, vadas and coffee.

Located in Hotel Maris on Cathedral road is this popular restaurant. It is right beside ITC Welcom. This hotel has been renovated and looks to be quite spacious. Usually populated during peak hours. Find plenty of family crowd. Chennai thali which is served here on banana leaf is being charged Rs. 250. It is an unlimited thali. Plenty of other options on the menu including some popular breakfast items. The prices are not too inexpensive. Also noticed that they serve boiling hot water by default which is good. Jain food is also available here. The staff is quite friendly, however the service was pretty slow. They have their own parking which usually gets full as the guests coming over to stay also have to park their vehicle here. They accept NFC payment methods also. Overall a decent experience.

I went for Dinner and Lunch to this place. Dinner: We ordered a lot of curries and roti. Roti's were not very good. Burnt smell was coming and lots of places where it was burnt. Black pieces of burnt roti was interfering while chewing and felt like grinding stones. Curries were good, nothing great, but not bad either. Lunch: I would go again for lunch to this place. Typical south Indian lunch with sambhar, rasam etc served on banana leaf. Very tasty and yummy. I would recommend this place for lunch.

This place was recommended by many but was able to experience it only today. A place for the family to relish simple homely meal - affordable | good ambience | table that can hold 4 plantain leaf (vazha elai) | car parking | ease for elders also to step in and step out. One suggestion - they can remove raitha (with onion) removed as it does not go well with the menu or replace it with carrot or cucumber. Go for it - meals is served for both lunch and dinner.

We have been to this place multiple times in the past and has always been a favourite place for safe South Indian lunch. Decided to visit for lunch on a late Saturday afternoon and this time was kinda disappointed. Mainly because of the steward who attended on us, thinking back may be we should ha e changed table for a better dining experience. This guy was AnandhaBabu and there was nothing happy about him! He did keep asking if we wanted something but that was for the heck of it. The attitude and body language were quite bad and not customer friendly. Food used to be much better. Cabbage poriyal could've been cooked better and taste also wasn't like earlier. They cost 275 now for a meals, not sure if it's worth anymore!

We came as a group of 12. Though we came early, we were not given the private room. The ambience was not at all good. Horrible experience!

Worst ghee roast I've ever had. Specifically told him we wanted it crisp but it was soft.
