I had been looking forward to visiting Fabelle for quite some time. On my first visit, the Fabelle store was under renovation, so we were directed to Café Mercara Express instead. That’s where we tried the hot chocolate and the spiced cappuccino. While the hot chocolate was enjoyable, the spiced cappuccino completely won me over with its unique notes of saffron and cinnamon. I later returned to experience Fabelle separately, but just a day after that visit, the coffee enthusiast in me found my way back to the hotel not for the hot chocolate, but specifically for the spiced cappuccino. It had left that strong an impression. Even navigating New Year’s Eve traffic felt worth it, because once you’re seated with a cup of this beautifully crafted coffee, everything else simply fades away. It’s one of those quiet, calming experiences that just feels right.

Loved the experience at Cafe Mercara Express! One of the most friendliest and wonderful restaurants I’ve visited. Started the year of in a good note. The staff are so cheerful and ensure all you need is taken care of. Special thanks to the Manager, Karuna and her team, Prabhu, Raja and Sumitra for their amazing efforts. They were so sweet to customise a slice of chocolate truffle cake which they remembered I loved from my previous visit. Initially we were hesitant about dining out due the covid 19 situation but that was all put to rest when the team explained the We Assure Initiatives taken by ITC Grand Chola and how they’re implemented. The cafe follows strict contactless dining protocols as much as possible. Please keep up the good work, and thank you for the safety and assurance your team provided.

I had the pleasure of dining at Cafe mercara express last night, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience! The service was top-notch from the moment we walked in. Our server Rahul was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu.

Chicken biriyani was great and amazing Mutton biriyani had amazing 3 big pieces of mutton. really appreciate quality. It was too oily and no gravy was there is the only disadvantage.

The menu options are fine, decent variety. Cappuccino was good, big portion. Watermelon beetroot juice was fresh. The letdown was the viet rolls and fennel chocolate dessert. The roll description was so inviting but the actual dish was pretty sad. First off no peanuts, the noodles were too al dente. Drenched in sweet sauce. Did not expect this from ITC. The biggest disappointment was the chocolate dessert. Completely underwhelming and overly sweet for a chocolate desert. No fennel flavor came through. Once again description was better than the dish. Priced at over Rs. 600, not worth the money or your calories. Service was neither good nor bad, just lackluster. Not the experience I’ve come to associate with ITC properties.

Decent place, excellent food, warm and friendly service. Deserved 5 star for the experience but cut two due horrible experience on phone with someone in charge of reservations. I was visiting from far with 4 guests from US, in this listing (in facilities) it says table booking recommended, but on phone he was totally cold and evasive in replying anything other than saying he can't take booking for Cafe, visit personally and see.

It's a place with a very nice decor and ambience. Unfortunately that's where our good experience ended. In the name of filter coffee, we were served just instant coffee mixed in water with milk powder. Pretty horrifying.

Without asking Payed Mineral water was served and included in the Bill. In house water was not available.
