I visited this charming Chettinad canteen today for lunch, and honestly, I’m still thinking about that meal. It was a set menu, but every dish felt like it had been thoughtfully curated—minimal, precise, yet deeply satisfying. The kind of meal that doesn’t scream for attention, but quietly wins your heart (and stomach). What truly stood out was the way it was served—it felt like I had walked onto the MasterChef set, not as a contestant, but as a judge getting to experience a beautifully plated tasting menu. Each course flowed into the next like a well-rehearsed symphony. A proper South Indian degustation, something I’ve always wanted to try—and here it was, humble yet elegant, right in the heart of tradition. If you're someone who appreciates soulful food served with care and intention, this place is a must-visit. Wholesome, heartwarming, and genuinely memorable.

I loved their curated 7course menu and their presentation definitely gives you awwwwww feel. Each and every meal was surprising and tasted amazing. Chef Harish did an fabulous job 👌🙏 overall loved Chettinad canteen. this restaurant is combined with a cafe called cakebee where we ordered Alfredo pasta was good and Korean fried chicken which tasted so bad and wasn’t fresh. So, please don’t try it

Food was excellent and every single item we had was delicious. Service was also really good. I’d definitely recommend people to try this place for a nice chettinad meal. They have veg/non-veg options with a 5-course or 7-course options and both were plentiful (depending upon your appetite). 5-course is around ₹1000 and 7-course is around ₹1200.

I was looking for a good restaurant to take my wife for lunch on a special occasion and opted for this place. It is slightly interior but Google map makes navigation easier. Being a weekday, I got a table in ease. No waiting time. Since seats are limited, opt for prior reservation especially on weekends. The seating and ambience is decent. We just have 5 or 7 course set meals. No ala carte option 🥲 We ordered one each for us. Refer menu available on the web for details. Food was served in reasonable time. Service was good. They were attentive throughout. Taste wise everything is good except for the main course (Sambar and curd rice) which were pretty average. Quantity is not adequate for a person with a good appetite. Food was plated well. Pricing is definitely on the higher side considering the mediocre serving size. Overall it was a decent experience. Nothing is appealing enough to revisit especially after spending Rs.2,289/- for two of us and not getting stomach filled.

Chettinad canteen serves curated 5 as well as 7 course menu. Both veg and non-veg. Menu is fixed for a given day. Only one serving for every dish. This is gourmet restaurant with fine dining concept. Suitable for leisure - family as well as friendly dining. Parking 3* (valet) Ambience 4* Reception 4* Choice of food (fixed menu) 3* Taste and flavour 4* Service 4* Value for money 3* I won’t prefer this place for second or revisits. May be good to try once.

Food was really good, they have a fixed menu of 7 items each day which keeps changing. I loved the place as well but the music was too loud that we asked to reduce the volume. The worst part was the service, it was pathetic. They took solid 15-20mins gap to serve each dish and at one point we all got pissed off. Started service at around 1.15 pm but the last dish was served around 3.45 pm. Imagine the delay 🙄 that too on a week day. They really have to work on this to improve.

I have visited this restaurant thrice along with my family (March, May and June). The quality of service seems to be deteriorating gradually. Not sure if they are changing the menu every month as they claim as I have had the same food thrice. And the quantity might be not sufficient for few people. For the price that they charge, they must check if it’s sufficient for the customer and provide some extra quantity if required.

Serving of dishes are not coordinated in the right way and in the 9 course it took 1hr to serve only 3 course, also one of the air conditioning in the first floor is not working and ambient temperature is high in the afternoon.
