Taj raises the bar at their BAR.This time, I am at  "CHIPSTEAD", the contemporary bar @Taj Coramandel, Chennai and at the apt time of the year:). Taj Coramandel is impeccable when it comes to service, even after 20 years that I know of! I just love this place. Valentines Day! around;) Super special cocktails for the season, I arrived ! I must mention Arun, The Bar supervisor who has a "spirit"ual hand to create a difference for this Valentines day. He has got some kickass names for his cocktail creations:), with an exclusive intention to attract an outing @ Taj Coramandel. "Flirtini" - derivative of 007's favorite, this has Vodka ofcourse; but with Caramel Syrup, Lime and fresh carrot juice. "Eve's First Kiss" - I call this a total health drink;). An awesome stuff with much of creativity mixed around Bacardi Rum, Zucchini, Lemon grass, Lime and Sugar syrup. Highlight of this drink is, it comes with a real lemon grass stem in lieu of any regular plastic straw! Now you know why its healthy and a total first kiss to lemon grass ;). "Valentine Spice" - Pure delight for Bacardi Rum lovers with an outstanding presentation, the whole thing is in a fresh tender coconut with pineapple chunks in it and believe me with 5 spice powder. "The Love Nest" - I could not believe this one, in particular! A whole watermelon is scooped out to hold Champagne, Vodka, Basil leaves, Lime and Sugar syrup, ofcourse it comes with a handle. Just keep refilling shots of vodka into the watermelon to keep your evening going;) "The Lady Killer" - I doubt if anyone who has a taste for strawberry, champagne and vodka can resist this, with a tinge of mint. "The Love Machine" - You can start and end with this drink, divine! With JD's honey, almond milk, cardamom, mint leaves and saffron sprinkled. Dont forget an Ice ball that floats in the middle of the drink and that rotates while making:) What I like about Chipstead in particular is the fresh fruit juice that goes into these cocktails instead of artificial juices and syrup! Was here last Saturday after the being to 2 places before this, entered the place at around 1 am. The music was really good and enjoyed a lot. Had my favorite bull frog which was ok, would not say the best. Had the jagerbomb which was really good. Ambience is very nice and would love to come back here again.

Chipstead has always been a great place to hang out be it with friends or for business meetings. Loads of stocks and excellent finger food. Service is by far the best and especially Tulsi Ram has been excellent. This guy has been always cheerful!!! Keep maintaining the excellent standards team Chipstead.

Tulsi is the most customer friendly staff at Chipstead. His smiley face and helping tendency are the first impression you get when you see him. It doesn’t matter if you’re visiting first time or a regular customer he serves with utmost care, love and respect.

Went to this beautiful lounge bar with a couple of friends. They have top notch imported spirits. Special mention to the friendly bartender thulasi ram ! Friendly and professional . Will definitely come back for more next time. Top notch service

Thulasi always gives excellent service and food is awesome. Chipstead rocks. Best place to hang out in Chennai. But they are not having any offer with zomato.

This place was full of a buzz when we visited around 9 pm. Initially we had no place to sit, after waiting for sometime we finally got a seat. It was a busy place with waiters running here and there. We came to this place just to see the ambience after hearing and reading so much about this place. We weren't disappointed. We had a couple of beers and cocktails and ordered chicken nuggets for starters. They have very well trained, customer friendly waiters which is an added bonus. We didn't stay here for long as we had to move to some other place after this. A nice place to hangout with friends though we didn't stayed here long it a memorable experience.

It was my first time at chipstead last strdy n8. The place was crowded bt impressed with the music and service provided by tulsi. As he kept track of what we were having and kept coming back to check on us. Would be visiting again for sure.

Pales in comparison to the newer hangouts. The bouncers at the entrance make it clear there’s no appetite for trouble. The ambience is impersonal and service indifferent. Perhaps the famous Taj hospitality starts beyond this place. Didn’t look like a pub, the way I know pubs to be in the UK.

Chipstead, one of the most premium bars in town, went there with such high hopes to have a good celebratory night after months of Covid lockdown. Got a table without any fuss, was promptly advised on the menu being contactless and we placed our order. Here come in our beers, followed by peanuts and nachos the usual bar sides, but that's not all, they ended up surprising us with not one but 3 cockroaches - 2 on the adjoining walls and 1 at our feet. Brought the same to the attention of their staff and he decided to run it with a serving quarter plate and a tissue to squash the roach, the quarter plate that the guests are served to eat in. Wonder what they were thinking? After the whole Pandemic and our extra attention to cleanliness and hygiene, we decided to step out To TAJ expecting the highest standards , well to our thorough dismay we were wrong. Think twice and be careful of what you eat here , dim lights aren't the best always.
