Tried out Dakshin in their new place where they have relocated now. It's smaller compared to their earlier one but well lit with good decor. We were seated quickly as we had reserved a table. Food that we ordered lived up to their consistent standards - Rasam, cauliflower varuval, kozhi 65, Idiyappam, Appam, vegetable stew, chicken in pepper gravy. Their mini banana dosa is also very yummy. Don't forget to wind off with Mukkani icecream. Very satisfied with the food. Service is pretty decent. Will surely visit again.

We dined at Dakshin tonight (7/2/25) for a special occasion. It was a lovely evening. It was our first visit to this restaurant after they have shifted to this new venue. Food and service was good. But we had a rather awkward experience when we entered which I really wish the management would take notice of. I had called and made a reservation this afternoon at 12:30pm via the number provided in their google business page. The person who took the call had duly taken down my contact number and details and told me that my reservation was confirmed. But surprisingly on reaching the restaurant at 8pm, the person at the front desk said that my reservation was not there. And he showed me his log register and i saw that my name was not there. I was puzzled . Mistakes do happen but the attitude shown by the man at reservations was appalling. He was not being polite and even asked me to show him my phone call log to show that I actually contacted the restaurant! Quite frankly not something we would except from a restaurant of this standard. Finally on seeing my phone call list, he believed me and grudgingly gave us a table. I unfortunately do not have this persons name. I wouldn’t have wanted to write a review like this for one of my favourite Chennai restaurants . But unfortunately this incident occurred. But overall the meal and service inside the restaurant floor was good

There were plastic pieces and particles in some of the dishes which served to two pregnant women. Aside from that the food was alright.

Adding one star for the service which was great. The best part of the meal was that and the live music. Ordered appam and stew and right away the stew smelt of rancid coconut oil and the veggies were just boiled without salt and put into it. Kal dosai was also terrible. Since we were guests at the hotel, we chose to dine in as we have a flight tomorrow but by God, I wish we had taken a ride to the A2B down the road and spared ourselves this pathetic excuse of a meal.

Food was terrible. I was expecting the magic of the original Dakshin at the Park Sheraton but was disappointed. The food was tasteless. Good ambience, however.
