Visited EGCO for breakfast. The place looks appealing from the outside, but the overall experience fell short. On entering, there was a strong and unpleasant egg smell throughout, which felt more like a hygiene concern than a deliberate theme. The space was also quite warm despite the presence of ACs. Food was the main disappointment. The chilli oil eggs were served with a semi-cooked egg literally floating in a pool of chilli oil—visually unappealing and difficult to enjoy. The chilli chicken open toast was equally underwhelming, with bread that lacked structure and chicken that seemed to rely only on chilli flakes for flavour. In contrast, the fries turned out to be the most satisfactory item on the table. For beverages, the iced latte was a decent 7/10 and arguably the best part of the meal. The pistachio cold coffee was overly sweet, with very little coffee flavour coming through. To their credit, the staff replaced it promptly upon feedback, but the alternative was still quite average. The canned-style lids used for serving coffee were impractical for dine-in—they were difficult to open without using a spoon, making the experience inconvenient. Basic dining usability was also overlooked. Food was served in deep, bowl-shaped dishes, making it practically impossible to cut or handle the food properly—even if a knife were provided, the angles simply don’t allow for normal cutting the way a flat plate would. The washroom further raised concerns, as the tap water had a noticeable unpleasant smell. Overall, a below-average experience. While the place has potential, it would benefit from significant improvements in food quality, hygiene, and overall dining usability.
